CHAPTER 1 * PART 3

                              

          

    After I arrived at Tee's we run to the backyard swimming pool. The pool size was of a country club. With our bottles of sunblock, magazines, ice teas and beach towels.

   My smile faded when I saw Copt on the diving board.   Hopefully he'll go away soon.

     The tall, tanned senior and captain of the basketball team with Hollywood good looks and the arrogance to the match always made me awkward and insufficient, and suddenly felt self conscious in my white Speedo, wich Tee had convinced that I looked "really good" on me. He had to be wrong. I felt like a little boy in his presence.

      "Tee, let's swim later," I begged him as I watched Copter emerge above the water from his perfectly executed dive, his long lean enhanced by his light bronze smooth skin. 
      "Can't. I have to pack to our trip. Just ignore my Stupid brother. The Pool's is big enough for all of us. Don't worry, his idiocy isn't contagious."

    Copter swam up to our side of the pool and grabbed the edge, his handsome face is in full smirk.  Did he hear us?

    "I can leave if you want, Bas. I mean it is my pool, but I will be happy to vacate it if it makes you more comfortable."

    "I don't know what your talking about. I'm fine." I forced a fake smile and decided he was too much of a jerk to let him ruin my day.

    He shrugged then pushed off the edge and stared swimming a freestyle lap. I couldn't helped noticed how nice he looked in his navy blue swim trunks and I hated myself for it. He was tall and muscled from hours spent in the basketball court every day, and the fact that he was very attractive made his rudeness sting infinitely more.

    I found a spot in the far corner of the shallow end of the pool and submerge my body, keeping it hidden from Copt. It was starting to show my small muscle and becoming more manlier and l didn't liked the attention that I was getting from some guys. Regardless, I knew that Copter would never see me as anything but a trailer park kid mooching off his family.

     Tee went inside to bring us Ice tea, and I froze when I noticed Copter swim over and stop for a breath just a few feet away. I thought I would try and l show him I could be engage in a civilized conversation,  that I had a brain. I clear my voice interned towards him. "Tee tells me that you're leaving on a trip tomorrow. Where is it you're going?" I asked, making sure I pronounced each syllables perfectly and not to end my sentence a good pronunciation.

    He wiped the water of his face, from his large, long lashed brown eyes, and smiled at me, amused at my question. "The U.A.E."
   
     Where was that? I tried to look like I knew what he was talking about and nodded, but he didn't buy it.

     "Do you know where that is, Bas?" He asked, he smirk having made a successful turn to his face.

     I felt my cheeks burn as my brain froze. I'd gotten an A in geography, but talking. To Copter caused my synapse to misfire.

    After a moment of staring, he laughed. "I keep forgetting how you  never been outside Texas.

     My initial embarrassment into anger.  How dare he.... "It make you feel good about yourself. When you point out the flaws in others," I accused him. You do it so welland so often."
