You wouldn't expect the world to be full of creatures that were so ignorant of themselves and what they did to the environment that the whole world was crumbling to bits. Then they go around blaming another creature for their problems, it's a messed up world we live in. One where ghouls and humans cannot coexist, no matter what. Humans are our prey, and they hunt us for fun. Usually ghouls find people who are already dead, but there are those strange few that go against what we find savage. They have their own names but we list them as things like: gourmets, binge eaters and Jason.

Gourmets are the strangest to me, they find a human and lead them to an "arena". In the arena a sort of executor is there to end the mortals life, it's certainly been deemed cruel by ghoul-kind. Once the human has been executed, they are served on a platter how a turkey would be served up for Thanksgiving. Granted they obey the whole one human a month rule, but how they prey on the humans is just too gruesome for many of us to stomach.

Then there's the binge eaters, like I said before: one human can last a ghoul a whole month. One human, not two let alone twenty. Binge eaters usually feat on a group of humans at a time, feasting until they can no longer eat anymore. Truly a cruel and unruly ghoul is a binge eater, but most ghouls who refrain from eating due to lack of dead humans become binge eaters and just can't get enough.

Jasons are very rare to find, but when you do, you'll wish you were never born. Much like jason from Friday the 13th, our version of a Jason is a ghoul that tortures the human to no end before feasting on their flesh. Cut off a toe, eat, cut of a finger, eat.

I am Chise Hamasaki, I am the daughter of Ghoul Investigator Tatsuo Hamasaki and ghoul Masa Hamasaki. If you haven't put two and two together, I am half ghoul and half human. The first one to be born this way. My birth was thought to be impossible, but I guess accomplishing the impossible is kind of one of my talents. My kagune is unique to only me, it's eight tails surrounding one flame one.

I think I know a question you might have right about now: why is my dad, a ghoul investigator, married to a ghoul? Well, you see my mom was born a ghoul, pure-breed and everything. My father at the time was only about twenty years old, Masa Sasouka was my mom's maiden name and my fathers latest assignment. When he met Masa, he didn't know she was his target. He asked her to lunch and they had "fun", I really don't want to get into the nitty-gritty details of the "fun" they had. But in the end they ended up going on another date, you see when my mother met my father she tried to swear of humans. Which leads to become binge eaters usually, on the next date they went to a fine dining restaurant and talked til it was dark.

My dad was kind enough to walk her home, when they arrived at Masa's doorstep my dad looked at the addresses on his target card. He was at his targets house, mom invited him inside for some coffee which he gladly accepted. There's no way this innocent looking college girl could be a ghoul!

Masa brought the coffee into the sitting room, they sat in silence with a few occastional sips every now and then. "Do you have any roommates?" Tatsuo asks her, mom replies with a shake of her head.

"Why do you ask?"

"Oh, um, no reason." He set his cup of coffee on the small table, then reached for his silver brief case. His quinque, a weapon designed from a dead ghoul's kagune, because the only thing that can defeat a kagune is another kagune. With that dad ripped out his quinque and my mother summoned her kagune, her kagune is magnificent, beautiful wings of light. Tatsuo stumbled in awe of their beauty, but it was only momentary as he whipped his three tailed purple quinque at her.

She dodged his sloppy attack easily and came at him from behind, she grabbed his hand and yanked the quinque from his fingers. Dad had been disarmed while mom held him to her chest, "I'm just a little hungry, I promise to make your death smooth and as painless as possible."
