"What kind of crap is this?! A D on your report card, un-ac-ceptable!"

"Oh come on! I'm not that smart plus I can't help but daydream sometimes, the high school teachers are so boring!" I whined to Tatsuo, Masa put a calming hand on my father's shoulder.

I looked to my mom for some support, she sighs and gives dad a kiss on the cheek. "Don't be so hard on her, you're the one who gave her ADHD." He stiffened on the word ADHD, then relaxed with a sigh of defeat.

"I suppose you're right, but I do expect your grades to be better next semester." I salute my dad and take off out of the house to meet up with Hiro and the gang at the coffee house down the street.

They were impatiently sitting at a table, I strapped my eye patch on and walked inside. I'm greeted with welcomes from the workers and I bow my head to them in respect, I sit with my friends as they all let their true identities free. The coffee shop was a ghoul only restaurant, "So what did you guys order for me?"

They all give me dumb looks, "Coffee." We all say in unison, we laugh at our only joke. Hiro was the only human in our group of 4, we all met at the orientation for Kamata High School.

Kou Saito is a pure-breed ghoul daughter of 14th wards most well known exterminator Rin Saito, he rids the 14th ward of gourmets, jasons, and binge eaters. His kind-hearted wife, Amaya Saito used to be my nanny when I was young. I never got to meet Kou before high school due to her appetite, a very large one I might add. Her purple hair that was always tied in twin-tails made her look like a friendly person when truly she would probably bite off your head.

Tsukiko Yamaguchi a.k.a Kiko is an orphan that had found a home at the ghoul-only coffee shop, which is why we made it our hang out. His blonde hair falls perfectly in front of his blue eyes with out the rest of his hair being too long, he doesn't have an over agressive appetite like Kou which makes him a ghoul that can fit in with the humans.

"Should we go for a hunt soon?" Kou asks getting excited, Hiro's face flushes recognizing our code word. Poor Hiro, I almost wish I could understand what it felt like to be the only human in a group of ghouls.

"You're making Hiro uncomfortable, Kou!" Kiko puts two fingers to the bridge of his nose in annoyance, it was sort of his signature pose, the same pose that made girls swoon over him for some reason.

Hiro rolls his eyes, "It's no big deal, honestly, I'm getting used to it. After all I grew up with Chise, which may not be saying much, but she still is part ghoul."

I lift an eyebrow daring him to continue, "Gee, thanks." I chug the rest of my coffee and stand, "Let's go for a hunt!" Kou cheers, Kiko shrugs, and Hiro's face falls. I know it was kind of cruel, but I thought of it as payback for calling me part ghoul, even if I was, I didn't want to hear it constantly.

"This time I want to try some then."

Kou looked at him surprised, "B-But..."

"No buts, I want to try flesh." We all started laughing except Hiro, "I'm serious."

I wiped a tear from my eye, "You said that the last time and then you almost puked at the sight of the guy's severed limbs."

He looks away from a second his serious face faltering, "I-I wasn't ready last time," He looked me right in the eye, and took off the eye patch. "I want to try it." My heart beat started speeding up, but why? I didn't like Hiro, at least not like that, stuff like that was meant for adults.
