Well, well, well. You made it this far? Gotta say, I'm impressed. Bet y'all still wondering how the whole seventeen chapters you just read fit into the prologue. Fine, I'll tell you.

My name is Donniel Constantino and I'm an assassin. Remember that whole epic smack down I told you about at the beginning of the story? Well that's kind of how these seventeen chapters happened. Let's rewind for a second, shall we?

Five months ago

After months of pestering, Rhonda had finally convinced me to listen to her. Her location was pretty much anonymous and that didn't give me any confidence.

"So what do you want from me?" I had asked her.

"A partnership." She had responded whilst playing with the photo frame on her desk. "We both want the same thing. Or should I say person?"

I knew who she was talking about but I  had played dumb. If this was a trap, I wasn't falling for it.

"I want to take him down as much as you do. See, yours is not the only life he's destroyed." She continued when I hadn't said anything. "You want to take him down, Fox, but you can't do it alone."

"And why should I trust you?" I had challenged.
She had taken out a sheet of papers and tossed them to me.

"That's one of my agency's creations. The Beta-X formula. It's something we use for interrogation. Makes a person quite... Suggestive." She said.

"That's well and good but what the fuck does it have to do with me?" I had asked her whilst placing the papers on the table.

"Those papers were made in triplicate. One of them was stolen a couple of weeks ago." She said. "One of my sources tell me the formula made its way to him, somehow."

"You still haven't answered my question." I had said.

"This formula can be turned into a tool to control people." She had said in response.

Of course it's only the rich people who could be that dumb and create something that dangerous.

"If Lundy decides to create a drug to control people, who do you think he'll try it out on?" She ha asked. "You're being followed, are you not?"

How the hell had she known that?

"I have eyes everywhere, Fox and my agency likes to maintain good faith with everyone we're in partnership with." She had said in response to that unspoken question. "We could help you get rid of your tail. Or we could help you take advantage of it."

"Take advantage, how?" I had asked.

"He knows you're a fighter. He knows you'll do everything in your power to make sure he doesn't get you again. What if you let him believe he's won?" She had asked.

"You want me to let him drag me back to that shithole?" I had asked.

She must surely be out of her mind.

"Think about it. If he believes he's won, that he has you wrapped around his finger, he won't think about keeping his guard up." She had said with a wicked grin. "Because let's be honest, even you have figured out that the only way to get to a man like Alistair Lundy is to do it from the inside."
