Light blue = interns

(at the bottom of the surgical chain)

Light pink+white coat = new residents

(the majority)

Light green+white coat w/ their name on it = old residents

(also the majority)

Light red+ white coat w/ their name on it and their speciality = new attendings

(a minority but respected)

Dark black+white coat w/ their name on it and their speciality + their stethoscope w/ their name on it too = old attending/ head of their department/ the chiefs

(on top of the pyramid and very well respected)
