The purple trees reflected on the lake in the gardens. The flowery vines had circled the two as a beautiful gate. The stars shined brightly that night, just as Jungkook's eyes when they teared up. Jimin tightened his grip on the meta-human's hand as a reassurance signal. He sat in-front of him with his legs crossed as he delicately caressed his hand with his thumb. "You can talk to me, you know? Can you breathe alright?" His voice was like a soft melody to Jungkook's ears."In the past..." Jungkook looked down on the grass not wanting to face Jimin, "my trainer left me. He was the only trainer I was close with and that I have loved." Tears started dropping as nostalgia hit him, "we used to go on a lot of adventures and get into a lot of fights. One day, we got caught," he saw Jimin's hand creep up to his other hand and also hold it, "I managed to get him out and he left me..." Jungkook observed the facial expression Jimin had, and it was pity. "I screamed his name... I risked my life, I abandoned my home just for him to leave me. I got hopeful that he would come back but-" he bit his bottom lip as his cheeks quivered, "they kept torturing me everyday in that dungeon, and he never came back... not for me, ever."
Jimin released his hands and tackled him with a really tight hug. Jungkook started sobbing on his shoulder as he hugged him back by the waist while he was sitting on the grass. "You're fine now, I'm here." Jimin comforted him, "you've suffered a lot, you've been hurt a lot, I'm so sorry." The young man with the purple hair teared up as he was hugging him. He backed away from the hug and kept his attention on the meta-human. "Jungkook look at me," he whispered, but the other didn't. He avoided eye contact out of embarrassment, "Jungkook," he whispered again as if he was pleading, "Jungkookie..."
"Don't pity me... I hate it." He looked him in the eye as he stopped crying. He saw the young man smile and was confused, "why are you smiling?!"
Jimin sat back down in-front of him and kept smiling. "I'm not pitying you, stupid. I finally get you. I can understand you so much better now." He ran his hand through Jungkook's hair, exposing his forehead, "I promise you that I will never leave you."
The meta-human shook his head, "Don't make such promises... you never know what will happen in the future." He saw Jimin's handkerchief that was next to him and picked it up. He started tying it back around Jimin's wrist. "I don't make promises with anyone anymore. Please understand."
Learning more about him felt really good. He understood why Jungkook was hostile in the beginning, and why he kept burning his hands. He understood why he didn't cooperate. "I understand you don't make promises. However, I do. Whether you believe me or not, Jungkook, I will never leave you."
Jungkook looked down and couldn't keep a straight face, a small smile appeared. "That's not fair though... I shared something, you have to share something personal about you too." He pouted in-front of his trainer.
The young man laughed, "maybe another time, I have something else to share with you right now." He breathed in, "I have precious friends and family up in the Mountain. They will never surrender and become slave citizens for the king, that means I have to go and defend my home too." He breathed out, "also the two other villages they're planning to attack... but I have a small problem."
Jungkook felt excited for him, "what is it?"
Jimin stood up and stretched his arms, "I'm in need of a partner..." He smiled at Jungkook, hinting something.
The meta-human hummed, "maybe Hoseok would be down to help you... or Taehyung. You guys seem close to each-other-"
"No," he interrupted, "I need someone that I can trust. A partner."
Jungkook frowned, "Me? A partner?" He smiled, "you used to call me a lizard, now you call me a partner." He hummed as he started fake thinking whether he should help Jimin or not when he knows he wants to. "I don't really know, you talk too much. You also break my back every time you sit on me." He stood up and crouched as he held Jimin up from his legs and rested him on his shoulder, "maybe I'll need to get revenge before I agree."
"Jungkook! Put me down. I'm not joking. I'm wearing my favorite sweater you better not throw me in that lake- listen here you lizard I'm not playing-"
Jungkook lightly tossed Jimin in the lake and started laughing, "oh sweet revenge." He laughed hysterically at Jimin since he was all quiet in the water with a sour look on his face.
"Partners share everything, come here, I have to share this with you!" Jimin splashed Jungkook but the meta-human backed away.
"Get away from me! I don't want to be partners anymore!" He said but the young man ran up to him and started dragging him to the water. "Gosh, sometimes you're too strong-"
Jimin made Jungkook get all wet in the water with him. The two started laughing as they splashed each-other and enjoyed each-other's company. They started to grow closer each day, and their trust for each-other increased.
___
After the two dried off, Jimin told Jungkook to meet him in the middle of the night outside. Jungkook was waiting for him as he saw him come out with a backpack on his back and something in his hands. "What are you holding? Oh- where did you get that?"Jimin smiled, "I made it." It was a costume made armor just for Jungkook. Jimin didn't wait as Seokjin advised him to. "How can we protect people if I keep slipping?"
The meta-human held the armor and was impressed. It was made out of custom material that was fire proof. It was black and it had shiny green rocks around it. The handle was big and showed that Jimin can have more control over him. "How did you finish it so quickly? Also, I see that you did your research."
The young man wanted to brag, "I had to find out how your flames affect objects and I remembered since you burned my hands. Anyways, I also adjusted the seat and the handle today after you yelled at me because I knew that we were going to leave tonight. I worked on it when I couldn't sleep." He explained to him. "I know, I'm just remarkable."
Jungkook rolled his eyes and handed it back to him, "why don't we test it out?" He turned into his dragon form, letting Jimin adjust it before he rode him.
He ascended and started flying smoothly, he noticed that Jimin wasn't slipping at all. Jimin giggled in the air, "oh I'm such a genius!" Jungkook turned roughly on purpose so Jimin can get a quick scare since he bragged too much. Jimin shouted, "stop it! That's not funny. Now keep going straight."
It didn't take the two a long time at all to get to the mountains. Since Jungkook was fast and Jimin knew the area, it took them about three hours only. Jimin had told Jungkook to go hide on a mountain that has a hiding spot for them. Only someone who lived there knew where it was. It was sort of like a cave but it was still opened up good. Jungkook landed and turned into human form really quickly. "That was so long! My back hurts so bad." He complained as he sat down.
Jimin didn't care about what he was saying as he was looking around the mountains. He missed his home. "I feel like I've been gone for a year. I really miss Hwan."
"You don't even care about me." He grumbled out loud. Jimin smiled and turned around to face him.
"Thank you, Jungkook. That was a really smooth ride." He complimented him as he patted his head.
The meta-human giggled, "aren't I so good?"
Jimin nodded as he took a stick out of his backpack and threw it, "go get it!"
The giggles disappeared as a frown appeared on his face, "do you think I'm a dog or something? That's so disrespectful-"
Jimin threw a small ball next as he saw Jungkook turn back into the dragon form and fetch it. "So it does work! Ah, this is so fun."
Jungkook brought it back, waiting for Jimin to throw it again. But he wasn't since he saw a big fire start in the village. "We have to go, now."
