Kuroo's phone rang suddenly making him flinch. he sighed and answered the call.
"hello?" he said and heard his dad's voice from the other line.
"Tetsurou, me and your mom made a decision." Kuroo knew what his dad was talking about. His parents have been deciding who's going to inherit their company. Kuroo knew it was going to be him, his older brother wasn't cut out for the job, and Kuroo was already the boss of one of their franchise, so he clearly has the advantage.
"we're giving you 3 months to find someone to date and marry, when 3 months passes by and you fail to do so, we're giving the company to your brother." Kuroo's eyes widened at what he just heard.
he knew how much his parents want him to get settles down, but he didn't know they wanted it to the point they're willing to risk the whole company. "dad, we've talked about this, I told you already that I want to focus on my career first. and you know you absolutely can not give it to him, that's a big risk."
"and we already told you that we want you to settle down, you're 28 years old and you haven't dated anyone yet.". Kuroo puffed out his cheeks. "you don't want your mom to find you another girl to go on a blind date right?"
now, his mom and dad knew very well that he's not straight, they're not mad about it but they're not completely accepting. his mom still makes him go to dates with girls with the reason being: "maybe you're bi and you'll like girls too."
he sighed, "dad, let me think first, I have to go back to work now."
Kuroo laid his head on his hands as he looked at the file of paper he has on the desk, satisfied that he finished signing them but also groaning inside knowing that he has other papers to fill up.
he pressed the button on his microphone that connects to the whole building. "calling in Kenma in my office please-" his eyes widened when he thought of something. "Kenma..." he whispered.
Kuroo looked up when he heard the door opened, his pudding haired secretary entered. Kuroo eyed him thinking that his plan was going to be crazy if it's successful but it's his only choice. "What did you want, sir?" Kenma said snapping the taller male back to reality.
"huh? oh yeah, um get these paper to Bokuto, he's in the 3rd floor. come back here after." Kenma took the papers and headed off.
Kuroo thought about what he was going to do, or atleast try to do. after a few minutes passed by, the sound of the door creaking made Kuroo look up again.
"come sit down." Kuroo said and gestured to the chair in front of his desk. Kenma sat down and was about to say something but Kuroo beat him to it. "hm, I have something a little peculiar to ask you Kenma." the blonde boy tilted his head a little bit to the side.
"you've been my secretary for 2 years now, and I trust you a lot. I figured you would be the best person to ask this favour to." Kenma rolled his eyes, "cut to the point Kuroo." they're quiet close that they didn't mind speaking to each other like this.
"listen here pudding, you know that I really want to inherit the company." Kuroo started. "my dad and my mom just told me, if I can't find a person to settle down with in 3 months, then my brother is getting the company." Kenma stared at him with a blank face for a few seconds before widening his eyes.
"you aren't asking me to-"
"Kenma, date me."
