Chapter 2: Forest Adventures

Lucy's POV:

After all the bad guys were rounded up and taken to prison, we got out of the tunnel and through the small entrance, finally being able to see sunlight.

"Ah! It's been too long since I've seen the sun!" Natsu rejoiced.

I look at him. "It's been 20 minutes, Natsu." He continued his silly dance.

Suddenly, he crouched over and put his hand over his mouth. His face turned blue and he made gagging noises.

"N-Natsu! Are you okay?!" I yelled and immediately ran to his side. He looked at the forest and then at me.

"L-Lucy.." he squeaked. "I can't go back on that train. I'm gonna puke my guts out. C-Can we go through the forest instead?"

He looked up at with a sort of puppy dog eyes -though, they didn't look right, but he still looked hot really hot nonetheless- and his hands in a sort of praying position.

I sigh and set my hand on my waist before crouching down to his level. I put my hands on his hands and nodded.

"Yeah, if that's what you want!" I pushed his hands down with my hands and onto my lap. He looked down at our hands before looking up at me again.

We locked eyes again, and he blushed, his onyx eyes stared into my honey brown ones. He slowly inched closer towards my face, closing his eyes with each passing second.

To my surprise, I did the same.

Our lips were only centimeters apart before I stood up quickly, Natsu looking up at me surprised.

"Let's save this," I placed a finger on his lips gently and winked. "for later."

I turned on my heels before heading towards the forest. I can sense his eyes burning into the back of my head.

Natsu's POV:

Reaching my hand up to touch my lips, I look up at Lucy walking away, my eyes trailing south from the back of her head.
I smirked.
I'm all fired up, Lucy.

Me and Lucy are now deep inside the forest, and it's already getting dark.

"Lucy!" I panicked. "W-Where exactly are we gonna stay?!"

I look around for her. "Lucy?" I called out.

No response. I wonder where she went. I sniffed around for her scent, only to smell something that wasn't Lucy.

"Lucy!" I yelled and ran towards the source of the strange smell.

I saw Lucy, but she wasn't alone. In fact, she was unconscious and surrounded by a group of guys. I turn to look at Lucy and see she was covered in bruises.

"What the hell did you do to Lucy?!" I yelled before making my way to the group to attack them. "Roar of the Fire Dragon!"

The single attack took them all out at once, and I ran towards Lucy. She wakes up as soon as I start shaking her violently.

"N-Natsu? What are you doing?" She asked and looked at me confused. I leaned in and hugged her tightly.

"You got attacked while I was distracted." I sighed and tears welled up in my eyes. "I'm sorry, Lucy. I couldn't protect you."

Lucy's POV:

Hearing those words made something inside me feel a sudden guilt.

"No, Natsu, it's not your fault. It's mine for leaving your side." I sigh and hug back. We pull away from the hug before staring into each other's eyes again.

"Sooo... What happened to what we were saving for later?" He questioned, his breath hitching slightly. I giggled softly.

His head turned to the side a little bit, and so did mine. Each passing second, our lips inched closer to one another's.

And then there was contact. His lips were surprisingly soft, I took notice as they pressed against mine. We kissed for a couple of seconds before pulling away.

"N-Natsu.." I blushed bright red and he just smiled shyly in response. I place my hand on his cheek and leaned in again.

Our lips made contact again, only for Natsu's hands to snake around my waist. I wrap my arms over his shoulders and around his neck before going sit up onto his lap.

"W-Wait, Natsu.. Before this gets.. out of hand," I pull away and blush. "We should set up a place to sleep."

"If we even get a chance to sleep." He winks.

"N-Natsu!!" I blush and yell. He shoved a finger into my face and scolded me.

"Ah ah ah! Scream my name later!" He smirked. By this point my face is redder than a perfectly ripe tomato.

I stood up and storm away completely flustered. Natsu tried to jump up and run after me, but instead of landing of his feet, he tripped and landed on top of me.

Natsu's POV:

I didn't mean to do that but now I'm on top of Lucy. I blushed almost as red as Lucy. I jumped to my feet and rubbed the back of my head sheepishly.

"S-Sorry, Luce. I-I didn't mean to." I stuttered quietly. Lucy was looking up at me with wide eyes. Then she stood up,

and kissed me again.
