"Hi Ma. Sandali ka lang pala dun." I kissed Mom on the cheek and proceeded to my room.

"Kyle Marco Agustin Montaniel, wait." Ugh. This will be a serious conversation. I turned and faced my mother.

"Ma, bakit? Bakit ano yun?" I laughed. "Joke, okay Ma. Ano yun?"

She gestured me to sit on the couch.

"It's time na malaman mo.." Grabe. Napaka-mysterious naman ni Mama. Pero mukhang kabado siya.

"Ma. Don't tell me ampon ako." I said.

"Shunga. May kapatid ka sa labas."

"Ha?! Eh di papasukin natin!" I managed to crack a joke pero deep inside nababagabag na ako. "Mom, how did it happen?!"

"A year before your father and I got married, I was pregnant with somebody else's child. Barkada namin nung college." She paused.

"Tapos?"

"Your father didn't know so I postponed the wedding and went to America with the father of my baby. Until I gave birth to a beautiful boy." She paused again.

"Ma, ano to? Pagalingan mambitin?"

"Okay. Fine. Sorry. Binigay ko yung bata sa tatay niya and went back home. And then your father and I got married. Then you were born a year after. The end."

"Okay Ma, question. Hindi ba nagtaka si papa--sumalangit nawa--na maluwang yung toot mo when you, well, made me?" Nanlaki ang mata ni Mama pero it is her job to answer the question, right?

"Hindi." Very brief answer.

"Okay. Mom, do you happen to know where my brother is?"

"No. Not at all. But I've been seeing his pictures on his father's Facebook account. He looks just like you but he's taller and more masculine."

"Selos naman daw ako Ma." I laughed. "Pero alam niyo po yung pangalan niya?"

"Oo. Vincent Enrico."

"Okay. I'm a bit interested. Does he know he has a little brother?"

"I'm not sure. Baka sinabi na ni Tito Ralph mo."

"You had an affair with Dad's bestfriend?!"

"It wasn't an affair. Binuntis lang ako! And besides alam naman ng papa mo, because I told him before he died."

"Okay. So you're telling me that we moved here. Para makita si Tito Ralph. And reunite with him and your son who happens to be my brother. And finally create a happy family for goodness' sake. Is that so?"

Nakakatuwa yung idea ni Mama. Pero ini-stress ko siya para naman kunwari nagagalit ako. Right?

"Precisely. Are you mad?"

"Should I be?"

"No. You've been dreaming for a Kuya diba. Now, you have a Kuya. Gwapong Kuya at that."

"Okay Mom. Yes."

She hugged me tight and patted my back. "We're meeting them tomorrow." Nagexplode ang brain cells ko at naitulak ko si Mama. "May date ako bukas! Pwedeng next week na lang? Or sa weekends?"

"No." She said strictly.

"Aww. O sige na nga. I'll tell Prince na lang."

"A boy. A boy. A BOY?!"

"HAH! Bakit?! Diba informed ka na Ma. I'm officially confused!"

"But.."

"Tatanggapin mo, or makikipagdate ako bukas?"

"Okay. Oo na."

"K Ma. Goodnight. Eks Ow. Eks Ow."

I ran as fast as I could to my room and slammed myself on the bed.

Shucks. May kapatid ako. Finally.

I called Prince to cancel the date. But it did not turn out so well.

"Babe ka diyan. By the way. Sorry."

"Wait. Sorry din."

"Di ako pwede bukas." Sabay naming sabi.

"Prince, may pupuntahan kami ni Mama."

"Kami din ni Papa. May pupuntahan kami. Babe, sa weekends na lang ok?"

"Yes. Babe."

"You called me Babe."

"Yes Babe. I love you babe."

"I love you too Kyle. See you at school. It's Wednesday tomorrow! We have PMT."

"Wew. Night night Prince."

"Kisses."

"Babe, ano palang whole name mo?"

"Prince Vincent Agustin Enrico"
