I had no choice, but to stop. She slowed down as well, and came to a stop. I picked up my phone. Should I call the cops? I decided to wait. I'm sure there was nothing to worry about. The woman smiled at me. I did my best to smile back at her."Hello."
She seemed friendly enough.
"Hi."
"My name's Kim Yeonghoon. Your father sent me to give you this."
"Oh yeah, I remember you. You're the secretary at his work."
I was slightly more relaxed. But how did my dad know where I was?
"Yes. I recommend waiting until you get back to open it."
She handed me an envelope.
"Um, thanks. But do you know why he couldn't have just mailed it?"
"It's an important message. He wanted to ensure that it got safely into your hands. He only trusted me."
"You must be pretty close then.
"You could say that," She answered, fidgeting with the strap of her purse.
Then, the bus pulled up in front of us.
"Well, I guess this is where we part." And with that, she walked away towards a parking lot, clicking her heels. Her blonde, straightened hair blowing in the wind. I climbed onto the bus. When I sat down, I saw her get into a sleek black car. I was stuck on this smelly bus, while she got to drive in her fancy car. I was a little jealous. I put my shopping bags next to me.
I looked at the envelope in my hands. Normally, I might ignore the letter. But I was kinda curious. I guess that was probably what he wanted. Why do I have to wait until I get home? It's probably nothing, anyway.
When I got back to the dorm, no one was there. I checked my phone, and Tae had texted me, saying that Jimin and him were at the gym. Now was the perfect time to open it. I sat on my bed and slit the paper. When I took it out, I didn't find my father's handwriting like I expected. It was mother's. Suddenly, I was more interested. It read:
Dear Minhyung,
It's your mom. I missed you. I know I haven't seen you in a while, and I'm sorry for that. I cleared your schedule for us to meet at West Lane Park, on Wednesday. I want to tell you something there. Meet me by the black bench. The one furthest from the parking lot. I'll be there at noon.
I know it's weird that you got this letter from you're father. That was because he wanted to send you your allowance with it. Well, I hope to see you at the park! Remember to work hard! But not to hard. I love you.
Gosh, I love her so much. I can't wait for Wednesday! I haven't been this happy since I moved out of dad's house. And trust me, that was a very happy day.
I got up and decided to do something my friends would love. Since I was in a good mood, I put away the stuff I bought, and laid the items for Tae and Jimin on their beds. I cleaned up the room and moved some furniture to give it a new look. I liked it. And I knew they would too.
I sat down and started to study my English. We had a test on Monday and I really needed to pass. I know this was supposed to be my day off but...
I looked at the clock. It had been about an hour since i rearranged everything. A few minutes later, Jimin walked in."Whoa, looks like you've been busy," He said, glancing at his bed that was now facing the wall.
"Yeah, I had a little extra time on my hands."
He walked over to his bed and picked up the sunglasses I put there.
"Are these yours?"
"Nope, they're yours. The lenses just looked perfect for your face shape, so I bought them."
"Thanks man. Whoa, these do look good on me"
We laughed.
"I have great fashion sense, if I do say so myself."
He smiled and did a couple of poses in the mirror. I went back to my English. A few minutes later, Taehyung came
"Well, some one was in a good mood today," He beamed as he put his hoodie away in the closet. It was gray with purple hearts on it. I originally made fun of it when he bought it, but it lowkey looked really good.
"You moved the furniture, and now you're studying?" He pretended to look shocked.
I smirked.
"Yeah, it's been a strange day."
"Well, tell me about it."
"First I went to the store and bought these outfits." I walked over to the closet to show him.
"Then in another shop, I saw a bandana I thought you would like," I pointed to it."Nice, I love the color! Thanks," He added it to his collection.
"You're welcome. Glad you like it. Anyways I went to the movies next. This lady was like stalking me, but turns out, it was just my dad's secretary. She gave me a letter, and inside it said that I'm meeting my mom on Wednesday!" I ranted.
"That explains why you're so happy today! How long has it been since you last saw her?"
I counted in my head.
"About 7 months."
"Dang. That's great that you finally get to see her! I'm happy for you."
He smiled.
"Hey, where's Jimin?"
He was here before Taehyung came in.
We looked around, but we didn't find him."Um, I don't know I'll text him."
We waited for a response. But there was none.
I hope you liked the chapter! It's a bit longer than the others. Tell me in the comments, you prefer longer or shorter chapters. And because this one is late, I will post 2 chapters this coming week to make up for it.
I purple you!💜💜💜
