25 Days of Troyler

December 9th

Troye POV

I tossed and turned in the bed, trying to fall back asleep but failing horribly. It was 7:14 in the morning and I was wide awake, this shouldn't be legal. I pulled the covers over my head trying to block out the light pouring in from the window that was seemingly a thousand times brighter as it reflected off of the blanket of white outside from every angle. I peeked one of my eyes out and saw Tyler was still fast asleep. His lips were drawn into a tight line and his eyes were scrunched together tightly. I ran my fingers across his jawline gently and in his unconscious state he instinctively relaxed under my touch. His lips curled into a slight grin and his breathing became slow and calm.

I debated waking him up but decided against it because he would be cranky all day if he didn't get enough sleep so I cautiously got out of the bed. I slipped on a pair of slippers to keep my feet from freezing against the frigid floor and quietly made my way out of the room. I made my way down the small flight of stairs and walked into the kitchen, immediately heading towards the cabinet where the Nutella was.

"Morning Troye." Jackie said as she ruffled the newspaper in her hands and I almost screamed at the sudden sound of her voice.

"Hi Jackie." I said quietly, still recovering from how scared I had been just a few seconds before.

"I'm not used to seeing you without Tyler by your side." Jackie said in a teasing manner. I swear she and Tyler were the same.

"Yeah, I couldn't sleep and I didn't want to wake him so I just came down here instead." I said shyly, suddenly becoming conscious of how much of my time I spent glued to his side.

"Well come sit down, I don't bite." She said kindly as she motioned to an empty chair at the kitchen table next to her.

I made my way over to the table and sat next to her, she had a look on her face like she wanted to say something but was too scared too.

"Jackie, is everything okay?" I asked tentatively. What if this was something about how she didn't like Tyler being with me and wanted us to break up? I know Jackie has never really fully supported our relationship but I don't think I would be able to handle her saying it to my face.

"Yeah, everything's great. I actually have been meaning to tell you something for a while now but I just never got around to it, but I need to tell you." Jackie said to me with a bit of hesitation in her voice, it was like she was trying to figure out how to word something she really didn't want to have to say. My mind was automatically assuming the worst and I felt myself about to burst into tears and even though I had no idea what she was going to say.

"Yeah okay sure. What's up?" I managed to get my words to sound a lot more calm then I was feeling inside.

"I just wanted to apologize about everything. I know I wasn't very supportive of you and Tyler at first but I was wrong. You might have a bigger age difference then I would like but you two still have one of the most loving relationships I've ever seen. Tyler has never been happier since you two started dating, every night he would call me and talk about you and at first I actually stopped talking to him because I couldn't handle it. I tried so hard to get him to break up with you but I was so wrong. He loves you so much and I can tell you feel the exact same way about him. Thank you for always being there for him, I'm glad he has someone as wonderful as you in his life." By the end of her explanation Jackie was almost in tears. I instinctively reached out and hugged her and she hugged me back.

"Thank you Jackie. I really do love him and I would never do anything to hurt him. He means to much too much to me." I suddenly felt like a wall had been knocked down and I could finally breathe. A giant weight had been lifted off my shoulders, just knowing Jackie supported this made me feel like I was on top of the world. There's nothing worse than not having someone approve of something that's important to you but now I finally had Jackie's approval.
