Chapter One

Clint's POV

"Shhhhh, I'm on a mission."

"Sure, a mission to get groceries because your girlfriend said she was busy?"

"Shut up, will you?"

I snorted, "Yeah, right. Like I'll ever do that."

Tony rolled his eyes.

I suddenly froze in my place, confusing Tony and forcing him to stop. He looked at me questioningly.

"You hear that?" I asked in a quieter house than before. The small and quiet cries coming from the alleyway next to us was unnoticed except for me and now him.

I turned my head to look into the alley.

I really shouldn't have done that. I just got myself in a bunch of trouble.

There was a girl with bright blonde hair, sobbing, with her hand clutched to the body of another.

The other girl had dark hair and open lifeless golden eyes, with a name tag that said, "Hello My Name Is none of your business".

I almost would've laughed at it, except it was spattered in blood and a claw mark was scarring the flesh it was on.

They were both sprinkled in weird-smelling golden dust, and there was a bow scattered, forgotten by it's owner, and four arrows on the ground.

The golden-eyed girl had a dagger in her limp hand.

I looked away, wishing I didn't even see the horrific scene I had found.

The girl stood up, finally, and looked at me. She had broken and hopeless, yet very murderous and intimidating sea-green eyes. The running mascara only added to her frightening glare.

She was probably scarier than me, and I could tell that one little girl had gone through way too much.

"What do you want? And why are you staring at me?"

Tony blinked, and said, "Mugged? Badly?"

I looked at him with a weird expression. This did not look like the aftermath of a mugging.

He shrugged at me. I looked back at the two girls.

A guy that had been running slowed to a stop to look at the scene. "Selene... what...?" He looked a lot like the girl, Selene, maybe a brother.

The girl took a shaky breath and looked at the guy. "She... I... we..." she sighed. "I-I don't know, Lake. I don't know." She shook her head with a humorless smile.

Lake, she called him, came forward and let the poor girl fall into his arms.

Tony and I just stared. We just simply stared.

"It's not your fault, Selene." A stern, motherly voice sounded from behind us. The next thing I saw was the hard concrete and combat boots.

That scary blonde mom just tripped me! What!?

"Mom... mom, I'm so sorry—"

"I said, it's not your fault."

"Mom..."

The boot got in my face as the mom shoved me away from the alleyway, back into the street, where I was stepped on twice before I got myself up.

Tony huffed indignantly. "Well, that was rude. I'm the Iron-Man!"

"I don't really think she cares, Tony Stank."

He elbowed me and kept walking like that incident alleyway was a completely normal occurrence.

"You really think you just saw a mugging?"

"A bad one, yeah. Why? What did you see?"

"I... nothing."

He rolled his eyed at me and said, "Come on. My niece wanted blue food coloring for some reason and didn't know who to trust for this 'super secret mission', and I'm not letting her down."

So, hey!
Sorry for the rather short chapter...
Oh, wait...

Keep going...

Aaaaand here!

After the trip to the supermarket, we were good. Ish.

Tony didn't get recognized, so that was a miracle.

But that... event?

No.

I am not okay with that.

"So you're telling me... you think you saw a murder like something from hunger games?"

"No! I mean, kinda, but, no!"

"Okay, what do you mean, then, huh?" Natasha crosses her arms.

"I mean, these little weird occurrences. Look."

I found an identical file for the same person from very different times. "They are identical. Nico di Angelo, 1930's and the twenty-first century. This is insane."

"I bet they're just ancestors or something."

"But the size of the files! They don't even cover half the page."

"Clint, please don't get started in conspiracies."

"Nat, I'm not crazy!"

"That's exactly what crazy people say."

"I— come on!"

She smirked at my exasperated expression then sighed. "Okay, fine. Tell me."

Ayyyyy! Way better ending! :3

So, if you read this, it's a miracle and I'm very flattered.

(Go read my other new story, "My One Soulmate" :3) ((yes, I'm so hopeless I self promote))

In all your demigod-ishness, peace out ✌🏻
