Lake's POV
My day was going pretty well (Uncle Stanky was still mad at me for getting him the wrong order but he didn't fire me because he was desperate) until two 'decent human beings' started questioning me.
The cosplayer god dude that I deemed Goldilocks in my head was sitting on the grey couch, eating a pop tart.
I sat next to Goldilocks and reached over for a pop tart.
He narrowed his eyes at me warily as slowly I took one.
Dad burst through the elevator dramatically, making me fling my hand back in surprise (I am way too proud and glad to say that the pop tart stayed with me, and ended it's existence in the best way possible: me eating it).
He marched over to me, crossed his arms, looked me up and down, then turned on his heel and left me with Goldilocks who seemed to want to scream.
This is... normal.
Yup.
So while Goldilocks was fanboying, two assassins skidded into the room.
Why assassins, you ask?
Well, I mean, they got guns (of course I noticed) (yes, they were muscular people, too, but I meant the shooting kind).
They stopped in front of me, and the redhead narrowed her eyes at me. "Hi, we're decent human beings."
A few moments later, she seemed to realize what she just said and face-palmed.
The guy laughed. "Yup, decent human beings. We're here to question you."
I sat back onto the couch, scooting a little away from blondie, with an amused smirk on my face. "You guys won't take me seriously, will you?"
The girl raised an eyebrow. "Why would we?"
I shrugged. "You just told me you're going to question me."
"We are. But we won't take you seriously." The guy said like it were the most obvious thing in the world.
I crossed my arms. "Fine. But you're not getting very straight answers."
The redhead gave me a sly grin. "We'll see about that."

"What's your name?"
Natasha, as she introduced herself, demanded playfully, slamming her hand on the table.
We had gotten lemonade because I needed a motive to continue.
"Lake. Lake Jackson."
"Who're your parents?"
"Percy and Annabeth Jackson."
"They were wrongly accused of being terrorist." Natasha narrowed her eyes at me, but what she said was directed at Clint, who was stealing pop tarts from fangod (I named him fangod because I got tired of Goldilocks).
"Show me your sword." She demanded, and I frowned. She didn't know I had a sword.
She raised an eyebrow, sensing my mood change. She obviously knew that this wasn't a joke anymore.
I slowly reached down and unsheathes my hidden dagger from under my pant leg. I carefully handed it to her. "This?"
She furrowed her eyebrows. "I expected you to take out a pen and start swinging it around like a delusional five-year-old wanna-be knight."
"I mean, I contemplated it." I tried to lighten the atmosphere that I so utterly shattered with one measly piece of celestial bronze.
Clint examined the knife. He touched the tip, pricking his finger and making it bleed slightly. My eyes widened in realization. No way.
