The Lost Otsutsuki

Hold on, we're coming for you

"Did you find anything?" Kosuke shook his head.
"Every file about the Ōtsutsuki is confidential. This is way harder than I thought."
Mayumi sighed. They were meeting every night, trying to find a way to get to Akari.
"I told you, I need to know where I'm going! That's the only way it works! Otherwise we'll just get lost in time and space."
"Then we'll have to break into Hokages office and look for the papers, but that's.. " Kosuke scratched his head. Mayumi rolled her eyes.
"Don't chicken out now. I've done way worse stuff in that office, trust me."
"Ew, Mayumi!"
"Whatever, come on. Let's do this."

They sneaked into the office. Kosuke was guarding the door while Mayumi was looking for the files.
"Hurry up."
"I'm doing my best! I can't really see in the dark, you know!" She whispered. "Oh I'm gonna beat her ass up for making me do this!"
"Makes two of us!"

Mayumi dragged the papers out of the box.
"Got it!" She turned and found a katana pushed on her neck.
"Where do you think you're going?!" Said Sasuke with his usual, calm voice. Kosuke couldn't even see him coming. Mayumi froze.
"Get that away from my neck!" She spoke through her teeth.
"Lord Sasuke, please don't harm her!"
"Breaking into the Hokages office in the middle of the night, you realize that's a crime, don't you?" He said.
"Like you're the one to talk about a crime." Mayumi forced his katana to move away with her power. Sasuke was staring into her eyes.
"Give the papers back and I'll spare you."
Mayumi chuckled.
"Shove that attitude up your ass, Sasuke! You can't tell me what to do."
"Hm.. "
"Lord Sasuke, we're trying to get Akari back." Kosuke was stuck between being an anbu and a best friend. He knew, he was breaking the law but mostly he was afraid to lose the chance of finding his friend. He had to be careful.
"She's finally gone, why would you want get her back. She's a threat to the village."
"Wow, you're the same shitty person you always were!" Mayumi started to laugh. "Look, I'm taking these papers and bringing Akari back and you can't do shit to stop me. You can't scare me with that creepy eye of yours. You don't wanna mess with me so shove it, Sasugay."
He chuckled and let her pass.

I woke up in a chamber and found my hands were tied with chains. That bastard had left me enough chakra only to keep me alive. I was freezing to death. I felt hopeless, abandoned and it was all my fault. I hated myself for making this stupid decision. If only I had told them the truth... I deserved way worse for hurting them.
I spent days in that damn cell, crying in the dark. I had no reason to be alive, I was useless.

"This is no use!" Mayumi threw the papers from the bed.
"Ah, you made a mess again, I just cleaned the room." Kakashi sighed and started to pick the papers up.
"I've been going through them for days! Can't even find anything useful!" Mayumi floated one paper before kakashi could pick it, then dropped it again. "I keep thinking that I can't do this at all!" Kakashi was practically running after flying papers in the room. "I'm losing too much time!" Kakashi stopped and sighed.
"If you don't stop with the papers, I'll chidori you."
"What? Oh, sorry." 
They heard a knock on the door. Kakashi went to open it.
"Uh, Mayumi, it's for you!" Mayumi went to the door and found Sasuke standing there.
"Why don't you chidori him instead?" She said.
"Well, he kinda knows the jutsu.."
"I came to talk to you." Sasuke said.

I heard footsteps in my sleep. I opened my eyes and found Ogen leaving some food for me.
"Coward!" I spoke through my teeth.
"Please, don't say that, sis..." he was ashamed. I could see it.
"I trusted you!" I couldn't hold back my tears. I was so weak.
"I haven't lied to you..." I could see he was crying, like me, but he was trying to hide it.
"How can you say that?! You used me! Made a fool out of me. I left my life, my friends, I left the man I loved...for you and you didn't do shit when I needed you the most!" He let his head down.
"I meant what I said, Akari. I've never lied to you."
He came into the cell and loosened the chains. My wrists were bleeding. I couldn't even look at his face. He placed a blanket on my knees.
"I knew you'd get cold." He said, Got up and left.
After I calmed down, I tried to heal my wrists but I hadn't enough chakra. I could only stop the bleeding. At least he brought me a blanket. I wiped my tears and wrapped the blanket around my shoulders, but something fell out of it. I searched through the filthy floor with my hands.
It was a leaf headband. I smiled and whispered to myself.
"Brother... "

"Did you find anything useful in those files?" Sasuke asked. Mayumi wanted to punch him in the face.
"Yea, actually, I did." She put her hand in the file and pulled out showing a middle finger. Sasuke rolled his eyes.
"If you keep insulting me..."
"What, you'll kill me Sasugay?!"
"No." He sighed. "If you keep insulting me, I won't help you." Mayumis eyes widened.
"Am I dreaming right now?"
"Look, I truly don't care a bit about her, but she loves Naruto. She even made me promise to kill her if she ever tried to harm him."
"She what?! Oh, I'm definitely beating her ass up!"
"I'm doing this for Naruto. He hasn't been himself lately. He's acting like.."
"You?"
"And again, stop insulting me."
"He might even grow an emo hair like you, if we don't get Akari back soon." Mayumi chuckled. Sasuke was annoyed and she liked it. Never liked that guy.
"Do you want me to help or not?"
Mayumi put her legs up on the table and smiled.
"Enlighten me!"

After a while I lost track of time. I had no idea how long I'd been in that cell, but it sure felt like lifetime. I was holding onto my headband, reminding myself not to give up.
Days later I had enough strength to heal the wound on the back of my head. But I was feeling really dizzy.
Luckily, I had too much time to think about my mistakes. But I still had no idea how to apologize to everyone when I'd get out of here.
One thing was clear, I had to tell Naruto about my feelings.
I spent time meditating, gathering power, getting ready to fight, to take down the man who murdered my mother.

"Sis, come on, wake up!"
I opened my eyes. Ogen was freeing me from the chains.
"We have to hurry!" He said and helped me stand up. My head was spinning.
"What are you doing here Ogen?!" I said with a mistrust, keeping my distance from him.
"He's gone. We have to hurry, come on!" He was dragging me out of the cell. I pushed him away.
"The last time I trusted you, I almost died!" I said.
"Akari... I.." he took a deep breath. "Everything I did, everything I told you I thought was the truth. If I knew, do you think I'd choose to stay with the man who killed my mother?!" I could see it now. He wasn't scared anymore. He was like me. Ogen hated that man. "I've spent my entire life obeying and believing him. I'm done, sis! It's time to do the right thing." He came closer to hold my hands. "You're right. I was a coward, but trust me one more time. Let me fight alongside you. For mom..." 
He touched my wrists and healed them. "Let me help you." I shrug and nodded.
"Okay, let's go."

Mayumi and Kakashi met the others in the woods at midnight.
"Are you guys sure about this?" Hikaru asked with concern. "Maybe we should come with you."
"I can't take everyone. This thing needs energy you know, it's not magic!" Mayumi said.
"Well, it actually is magic." Answered Kosuke. She gave him a deadly stare. Sasuke was there too, watching them from away. He nodded at Mayumi and left.
Kakashi pulled her towards himself and smiled.
"Good luck doofus, come back soon!"
"And what?" Mayumi asked with a smirk. Kakashi whispered something in her ear. "I don't even wanna go now!" Kakashi chuckled.
"I believe you can do this, love you."
"Love you too, perv." Mayumi kissed him and turned around.
"Kosuke, are you ready?"
"Yea."
"Let's do this." She took a deep breath. The blue marking on her face started to spread, the wind got stronger. Kakashi and Hikaru backed down a little as blue lights appeared around Mayumis hands. Kosuke put his hand on her shoulder.
"Hold on, we're coming for you.." she said.
