Rey walked alone through a dark forest, she'd been sent here by Queen Leia to seek out Luke an old hermit living in the forest. He was said to be a powerful wizard, the very last, but Rey wasn't sure that she believed that. Wizards were nothing but myths, she thought.

Twilight had fallen over the forest and shadows danced across the path before her.

As she walked she felt a dark presence, she sensed something watching her. Her eyes scanned the shadows between the trees, suddenly her eyes landed on a brief flash of movement in the trees.

A large dark form appeared on the path before her. She screamed in surprise as she saw a dragon, she backed away quickly...too quickly. She stepped on the corner of her cloak and stumbled to the ground, continuing to back away from the creature as quickly as she could.

Finally regaining her composure, she came to her feet and drew her sword. She pointed the tip of her blade at the beast, glaring down the edge of the blade at him. "Don't come near me...monster!"

The dragon took a step towards her.

"Stay back, dragon."

"I have a name and it isn't dragon," a deep voice came from the throat of the dragon,

Rey was visibly surprised, she lowered her sword slightly. "Then what is it?"

"Kylo," he replied.

Rey sighed, and lowered her sword. "I'm sorry, Kylo, I over reacted. You only startled me."

"I have that affect," the beast replied.

"I'm Rey."

"It's nice to meet you Rey, but what is a girl doing alone in the forest? It isn't safe... there are dangerous beasts lurking in the shadows."

She was almost sure that she could see him smirking as he said the last words.

"I'm looking for the hermit, Luke, do you know where he is?"

"I do, but I must warn you...he is nothing but a bitter old man. He isn't worth seeking," the dragon replied.

"I have to find him," she answered.

"Why?"

She looked down. "I have a power within me...I can't control it,"

"I can teach you," the dragon spoke softly.

Rey looked at him doubtfully.

"Dragons are magical beings, I can teach you just as well as Luke can."

"Thank you for the offer, but I promised the queen that I would go to Luke...that I would trust no one else."

"Very well, I will guide you," Kylo replied. "It's a long walk and we will get there faster if we fly."

"Fly?"

The dragon nodded. "Do you trust me?"

The girl swallowed hard before nodding.

Kylo turned to the side slightly. "Climb on my back."

She took a deep breath before stepping forward. She reached out to touch the scales on his side. She moved her fingertips, his scales were softer than she'd expected. She climbed up onto his back, wrapping her arms around his neck.

Kylo stood on his hind legs and began to flap his wings until they were lifted up off of the ground.

Rey gasped in fear as they rose above the trees. She closed her eyes and found herself holding onto him a little tighter.
