I turned my phone off and finished packing my stuff. Lakas naman maka-essential ni besh? If I know di niya din naman alam kung ano mga essential for him. Baka nga nagpa-panic na 'yon. Pero di niyo mahahalata yun sa kanya since he is a very reserved person.
Ever since college, friends na niyan kami ni Alas. One word to describe him: mysterious. I was gonna say charming though. Pero para sakin he's that type of person na social butterfly, yung tipong president siya ng department namin ganon, but there would be times wherein he doesn't really give a f-ck, gets niyo ba?
Ako din... di ko din talaga ma-gets yan. Anyways, this is not about him naman. This should be about me. Ang totoo niyan, our flight would be in 4 hours. So I'm currently on my way to the airport. I checked my email just in case na baka may makalimutan ako pero ever since last week nakapag-ready naman na ako. I checked the flight itinerary for the nth time. It says:

I sighed. Imagine the connecting flights altogether? No complaints but look at that almost 13-hr connecting flight from Tokyo to Atlanta. It would literally be a pain in the ass. Di pa naman yun maganda sa likod kong may sacralized L5. Also, imagine taking a flight on the 7th of May with more than a day of flying, only to find out that you'd be in your destination on the same date. I could only imagine how bad my jet lag would be.
"Hoy! Labas na!" di ko namalayan nandito na pala ako sa airport, di man lang sinabi sakin ni manong. Eto namang si Alas, binigla na lang binuksan yung pintuan sa side ko. "I just got here too." sabi ni Alas habang hinila niya ako palabas ng sasakyan.
"Oh tapos?" Di ko naman kasi tinatanong eh. Kabadtrip naman kasi 'to, lagi na lang ako hinihila eh hindi naman ako bata.
"Wow, ang bitchy mo talaga lalo na sa umaga noh? Time check: 4:33AM. Sa bagay, mukhang kulang ka sa tulog." inirapan ko nga. Kahit na best friend ko 'to, ang hilig pa rin niya akong i-bully.
"I just need iced coffee right now, Alas." sabi ko nga.
"Hah, the gays really need their iced coffee always. Is that an every day thing?" he asks, in which I gagged. "I may or may not be slightly offended." I said, he then shrugs and smirks.
Kinuha ko na nga mga gamit ko at nagpa-alam na sa driver namin. Then we both got in line and got ready for the check-in. It took us some time til we finished with the immigration too but it wasn't too bad. Masyado lang talagang maraming tao ngayon, even at this time. We then got to a coffee shop and waited for the time to pass. I then checked my phone to look at the time and it already is 7:10AM. Then I saw I got flooded with messages.

"Something bothering you?" tanong ni Alas, which got me back to my senses. I just shrugged it off and said to not mind me. Naka-titig na pala ako sa messages niya for a very long time. And I just stared at it... in disgust? or with such disbelief? I guess I couldn't believe someone whom I used to date and ghosted me is pulling this off on me right now.
Now I couldn't really wait to fly and rest my heart for awhile.
