Come on not right now, Stan thought as he heard the ping of his phone indicating he had received a message. The curly haired teenager rolled his eyes putting his homework down and picking up his phone. He pressed the home button and imputed the passcode, taking a moment smile at his home screen before pressing on the green message app.

Stan turned off his phone and huffed. This person was so annoying, honestly he regretted making that deal not so long long ago. Stan left the anonymous person on read and turned off his phone. After another hour of studying and answering question after question Stan was finally finished. He sighed in relief and put all the papers in a folder in his backpack before he flopped on his bed.

"Done for the day..." he whispered to himself closing his eyes. The teen started relaxing before his eyes shot open looking around his room. This was strange, he was relaxed? Something must be wrong. What was he doing different? Why had he been so relaxed for once? Stan sat up and sighed in annoyance.

Why is it when I'm relaxed I just have to think the worse is happening? Stan thought to himself. He pulled out one of his many bird books, this one having been given to him by his best friend Bill Denbrough.

For the next 3 hours stan sat on his window cell curled up in a blanket reading his bird book, only wishing he could leave this life and be a bird and be free.

Free, such a strange word. Everyone says that we all have free will, that once we're 18 we can do whatever the hell we want, but until then we have to follow all these stupid rules our parents place on us. But that's not the case, when we're an adult there's even more rules, more responsibility, many more consequences and much more people judging you every second of your life. That's not free.

Birds are free. They don't have to abide by rules and boundaries. They don't express so much judgment and hatred. They can just, fly. Whenever they want. They can go solo, with a small family, or a large flock. Whatever they want. They're really free. They're so beautiful and wondrous and so free. And Stan was jealous of that.

Stan hadn't realized he had fallen asleep there until he woke up to his phone blowing up with messages. He rubbed the sleep out of his eyes and looked at the time. 2:34am. Stan wondered who was texting him at 2am but he could come up only 1 answer. He picked up his phone to see he was indeed correct.
