Why me?

Sunday mystery boy.

As I hit the alarm clock, 9:00, I had to get ready for church. Hopping in the shower I went into deep thought about the most random things ever. Like why is jell-o jiggly? Or who makes up half the TV shows? Is it just me or does anyone else think about this?

Arriving at church with my mom she went into the room where the pastor speaks, and I headed for the nursery. This is where all the little kids come. I'm in charge. I teach the kids the basics of God and who he is and what he has done. Than its snack time and recess. Usually, the kids get super wild but I don't usually watch the kids alone.
My best friend Sage helps me. We have been friends since the third grade. She has always been by my side.

Today when she showed up she was late and brought a boy with her.

"Hey Sage. You're a little late." I laughed.

"Yeah I know I had to pick Anthony up." She pointed to the boy standing next to her. He has dark brown curly hair with chocolate eyes. He was at least 5'8 and he had an adorable smile.

"Oh well, go grab the snacks I'll take the kids outside." Sage walked to the kitchen and Anthony followed her like a puppy.

When they came back they just sat at the top of the swing set, talking the whole time while I did all the work. It was totally unfair. Why should I be taking care of runny nosed brats and she can't talk to a boy the whole time.

Finally church was over and my mom took me out to eat. We headed for red robin, its her favorite restraint. Once we sat down my mom was so eager to get to know who Anthony was.

"So who was that boy Sage was with?"

"His name was Anthony. Im not sure if they are a thing or not because I didn't ask."

"Well why not? If you wanna know something you gotta get the details."

"Well maybe next Sunday he will be there again, but I hope not I had to do all the work."

"Well maybe if you get to know him they would help. Besides I need to know more about this kid. He's seems nice."

"Well why don't you go spend next Sunday at the nursery and talk to him."

The night went on we had dinner and continued to talk about Anthony. I kind wanna know more about him too. He's kinda the Sunday mystery boy.

"I'm leaving for work." My mom came in my room and sat on the end of my bed.

"Okay."

"Love you. Go to bed at a reasonable time." She gave me a kiss on the forehead.

"Love you too."
