Chapter 5- Sword in the Lake

I woke up underwater. I breathe the water in, and instantly grabbed my neck, thinking i was suffocating. But i wasn't. I took in a deep breath of water and it actually felt good. I was alive. I was breathing under water. I felt... I felt free.

I swam up to the surface and took in a breath of air. Surprisingly, i could breathe that in too. I don't know how, or why it happened. But i was alive. And a feeling in me said all those souls were too.

I started swimming towards the small, rocky beach that i could see was surrounding the lake. This was way too small to be the Mediteranean Sea. The guy had obviously lied. but the fall had been two miles, for sure.

I swam all the way to the beach and climbed up a rock. Then i sat down and took a deep breath, letting tears fall down my face

The water started moving and it formed a ladylike figure. I stepped back, scared

"Don't worry" the lady figure spoke

"Who are you? "

"I'm the fairy of the Lake"

"But wasn't it your job to kill everyone who even gets close to this lake? I mean, i not only got close, i freaking jumped and drowned in it!"

"I know. And yes, that is my job. But i bet on you. And i never lose a bet."

She smiled towards me, then the water washed something on the shore. A sword

"It's the sword of the Lake. It used to be Merlin's, but after he died it was given to me to guard. It's the most powerful weapon in the world. Well, second most powerful. The first is love. And i give it to you"

"Why me?"

"Because I give the second most powerful weapon in the world to the only one left who has the first. You deserve it, girl. No go achieve the rebellion. Change the world. And remember, I'm by your side"
