"Would you make me a promise?",(Y/N) asked.

"Huh?"

"A promise, Deidara, let's make a promise."

"I don't owe you any promises just because you saved me or something. " He scoffed, making (Y/N) feel uncomfortable.

In that moment, the sound of rocks crumbling down distracted them. Air got warmer, more dusty, it was hurting their eyes. Sounds were brassy, ear-splitting, unbearable. Chaotic atmosphere was making them feel anxious, their emotions and feelings were exaggerated. They were drowning in adrenaline, trying to understand how to assess the situation. Massive stones were falling down, the cave was collapsing.

After a few moments it was quiet. (Y/N)'s eyes were closed and her body was in shock. Moments that passed felt like hours. She tried to open her eyes, but it was too risky.

"Even if I died I don't want to know about it just yet" she thought.

Even if she isn't dead yet, she will be soon. She felt cold, dusty rocks underneath her cheek, reminding her that if she dies it will be in vain. Her mind broke. The thought of losing Ren and Sora was too much for her to handle. She tried to think about the positive side, how she isn't going to have to see her best friends die, but the image of Ren and Sora standing next to her grave hurt more than anything she ever experienced.

(Y/N) blamed it on her kindness, not being able to kill Deidara on time, not being as strong of a character as they were. Her body got softer, more bendable, less of a human body and more of a piece of flesh filled with sorrow.

"I'm sorry Ren. I'm sorry Sora", she whispered.

It was a moment to remember everything she loved about her best friends and comrades. Images were popping in her head, replacing one another too fast to acknowledge them, but slow enough to feel them. She remembered the happiest day of her life, the day Ren and Sora took her to a summer festival. All the meaningless jokes she remembered now held more meaning then her life before meeting them all together.

"Who are Ren and Sora?", Deidara asked.

His voice woke her up from her fantasy of dying that soon. As dissapointed as she was it wasn't over for her, she pulled herself together.
(Y/N) opened her eyes and saw complete darkness, got up from her lying position, sat down and looked around herself.

"I can't see anything. Deidara can you try to make a bowl made of clay."

"I'm an artist, not a pottery maker",he answered, obviously annoyed.

"Please."

Deidara felt something inside of him, something he didn't feel in a long time. Words she told him found their way to his heart. It felt like he was a child playing with clay all over again. That simple word she said opened a way for everything else she told him to be felt by his mind, body and soul.

Images of him making pottery in his village were flooding his mind. His old friends were all next to him.

He shrugged of the thoughts, but couldn't stop the warmness she made him feel. It was a feeling stronger than art. It was an explosion of feelings inside of his chest and mind. He loved it, as long as it's not going to last.

"This is all because I'm with her for this long. It's a natural explosion on feelings. Art of a moment. "

What he thought was true. Deidara was dying filled with regret about his art, but also life he lived. The girl sitting a few centimeters away from him was somebody who made him question everything he knew about life and art, good and bad, just because he was about to die. He thought it was normal to start feeling such unique feelings and experiencing such thoughts as a part of every human's farewell. It was his final art, explosion of feeling. That didn't make his feelings real at all. It made them artistic.

"So, will you?", (Y/N) interrupted his thinking.

"If you light a fire we'll get out of air sooner, idiot."

"Well, you're the one who has enough chakra, why don't you get us out then?"

"Because I'm not that good of an earth style user, it's not compatible with my aesthetic," he raised his voice "besides I have almost no chakra left."

"Then, we're going to die anyway. So can you please just give me a bowl so I can light a small flame to simply see where I am."

It was unfortunate for (Y/N) that she started developing feelings for somebody just a few days before she was going to die. Even more unfortunate was the fact that even if she got out of that place alive, she'd have to learn to hate him to be able to capture him. She tried hard to hate, but couldn't. As small of a crush as he was, she believed in him and that's what made her care so much. She'd do it for anybody, at least she thought.

Deidara handed her a small bowl and she used fire style to light a small piece of cloth in the bowl on fire,so she used her jutsu to keep the candle size flame. When she realised where she was it seemed like Deidara made a round shield to protect them from cave collapsing.

"Are Ren and Sora those guys my man Sasori was fighting with?", Deidara asked silently, looking at the floor.

(Y/N) simply nodded.

It was the first time in a while when he was the one to initiate a conversation. Usually he would just answer questions or defend himself. (Y/N) thought it was because of death that was awaiting them soon enough, so he wanted to find out about the person his corpse is going to be found with.

"Why didn't you blow yourself up yet? You seem eccentric enough to do that."

"Nobody would be here to appreciate my art except you, which doesn't interest me at all, un."

(Y/N) got close enough to Deidara to feel his cloak touching her left arm. She counted on passing out soon so she craved human contact.

"Promise me you won't lie to me until I die."

(Y/N) still believed Deidara was lying about most of the things he told her. She wanted to know the truth about the person she is gonna share death with, specially in her final moments of philosophical redemption.

Her got breath was weaker with every exhale. Her head was pounding, making her feel like death is closer than it might seem to her.

"I wasn't lying this time at all",his voice was full of calm, almost undetectable anger,"I promise."
