Chapter 6

Tobias POV

Eli is on the floor playing in front of us.While Tris is wrapped in my arms.

Eli looks up at me and even though she's a baby I can see the hurt in her eyes.

I reach my hand out to her, but she turns away from me.

"Looks like someone's jealous."I say.

I set Tris down on the couch and walk over to Eli.

"Hi Eli."

She pushes my face away.

"You know I love you baby, but you're mommy just came back to us and I need sometime with her."I explain.

She extends her arms out telling me she wants to be carried.I pick her up and she hugs my neck.

I walk with her in my arms over to Tris."Eli this is your mommy and you have to be nice to her because she loves you."

"Dada."She says snuggling into me.

"Yes princess I'm your daddy, and that's your mommy."

I hand her to Tris and Eli just stares blankly at her.Eli starts to wail and she yells,"No Dada!!!"

I take her from Tris and hug her.She calms down, but Tris starts crying.

"Tris it's okay she'll learn to love you."I console.

"I'm a horrible mother not even my own daughter wants to be with me."She cries.

"No you aren't Tris.Eli just needs to get used to you."

"Okay."Tris agrees.

"Have you told anybody else that you're here?"I ask.

She shakes her head and replies,"I had to come with my family first."

I kiss her lightly.My mouth fitting perfectly into hers.

Eli hits Tris in the face during the kiss and yells,"NO!!!"

"Elizabeth BAD GIRL!!!"I reprimand and swat her hand lightly.

Elizabeth start wailing and I don't console her.

"Timeout."I order as I set her in her crib.

I walk back to the living room and Tris sits on the couch.

Realization hits me like bus.

I just hit my daughter.

I grab a hold of the couch as the room begins to spin.Tears fall steadily down my cheeks.

"Tobias what's wrong?"Tris asks.

"I...I...hit my daughter."

"Tobias come on let's talk."Tris comforts.

"There isn't anything to talk about.I'm just like him just like Marcus."I say.

Tris kisses me knowing that it'll shut me up.

She pulls back and I sit next to her on the couch.

"Tris I hit Eli."I explain.

"Tobias listen I'm not supporting the fact the parents should hit their children, but a swat on the hand especially the way you did it will show discipline."

"Are you sure? What if I'm like him?"

"You aren't Tobias I've been her for two hours and I can see how much Eli means to you."

I hug Tris and say,"I love you Beatrice Prior. I love you with all my heart."

"I do too Tobias."

"Dada!"I hear from Eli's room.

I walk over and pick her up.

"I'm love you baby. I love you very much."I say as she nuzzles into my chest as falls asleep.

I set her down in her crib as Tris walks into the room.

"See you're the best dad."

"Thanks. I love you."

"I love you too."
