DARCY

"So three people broke in, knocked you out, you broke free, they tried to kill you, but you killed them...?" My mom choked on her words as she was trying to get this crazy story straight. I nodded my head, letting out a sigh. Tate was behind me, drawing circles with his thumb on the palm of my limp hand. My mom ran her fingers through her hair and tugged on it, causing me to wince. Her eyes scanned the body if the man I had strangled and let a tear roll down her makeup caked face. She started to shake her head, as if she thought I was lying. Finally she looked at us and pointed at the kitchen.

"I'm gonna go call the cops..." She breathed, rushing over to the telephone. I turned to look at Tate, my eyes droopy and laid my tired head against his firm chest. He started to rub my back, making me more exhausted.

"You are so brave." He mumbled. I looked up at his perfect face and shook my head.

"You're too good for me." I blurted out. He just laughed, skating his head full of loose curls. He leaned down and slowly kissed my nose, making my heart buzz. I heard my moms soft footsteps coming back into the room.

"The cops are on their way." I passed out after she said that sentence. I couldn't bare to stay awake the rest if that night. It made me suck to my stomach thinking about how they would've killed me. I'm still surprised that Tate and I won. I would always win as long as I had him by my side.
