Today is my first month in SVMO. And honestly, gusto ko na mag-resign.
Charot.
To say it was overwhelming is an understatement.
Dahil kakaiba ang role ko (serving two teams), I've familiarized myself with the processes and systems by both teams. Ang daming kailangang basahin, kailangang matutunan, at kailangang gawin.
And so far, the biggest learning is that Mayor Javier Elizalde Genrio is superman.
Seryoso.
First, the values he instilled in his office is embraced by everyone. From the top officials down to the worker-bees, everyone is practing what they preach.
Second, the synergy of the system he established is very efficient.
And third, he really listens. Citizens who speak to him, netizens who message him (yes, he manages his own social media accounts), and his employees who talk to him—he listens to everyone. He answers them as best as he could.
I've had little direct interactions with him, as most of the projects I'm helping with ay hindi siya directly involved—his trusted people ang nagha-handle if they can, pero lagi talaga siyang busy.
Ah, siguro dahil sa ni-launch nilang new transportation system, part ng major projects this year. I think to myself habang ngumunguya.
"Ang perfect nya, ano? Matalino, madiskarte, mayaman, charming, at higit sa lahat, gwapo. Naku, lalo na pag ngumigiti siya! Jusko, malalaglag yata ang ano ko!" Eds sighs in amazement.
"Sana nga nalaglag na lang!" Pau laughs.
Naalala ko na naman yung ngiti niya nung huli ko siyang nakita – during the interview. That and everything I found out about him, hindi nga malayong isipin na ideal man siya.
My ideal man? I catch myself immediately and naramdaman kong uminit ang likod ng tenga ko.
Shit, I must be blushing. Hindi pwede, to.
Stop it, Valerie. I try to think of other things: Hindi sya perfect. Baka wala iyan siyang pusod. Or madumi kuko niya sa paa. Or di siya magaling kumanta. Hindi siya mahal ng mama nya. Anything to reduce this—whatever this is.
"Hoy ikaw Valerie Anne. Eds screams at me habang dinuduro pa ako ng tinidor.
