The Colonel and the Lieutenant cling on, desperately as possible. All the ships had crashed and burnt. The personnel assumed dead. The Mysterons ships watch above in the sky as they look down and see Skybase fall like a dropped stone through the clouds. With its engines failing, smoke seeping out every side, its grey metal dented and snapped. Now, it is just left is White and Green. More rubble crashes near them. The instruments were haywire. Now they had minutes, at best.
Lieutenant Green:
We're... we're the last ones left Colonel.
Colonel White:
Yes, Serena. Just us now. Skybase was positioned over a remote desert somewhere in Egypt. At least we won't crash on anyone. But we leave the world to ransom
He kneels as he leans onto the control board to contact one last time, holding a special medal in his hand. A little medallion.
This is Colonel White Spectrum Skybase to Spectrum Headquarters London. Cloudbase is severely damaged and out of control. We will crash in approximately one minute. I intend to go down with my command. Out.
Skybase plummets down and down and down as Colonel White salutes for the end is near. Spinning and spinning and spinning and spinning and spinning and spinning. KABOOM! Something explodes in the clouds. Must have been Skybase. Moments later, the Mysteron ships then swarm back up into the sky and reaching back into space to return to Mars. However, it appears Skybase has stopped. It has returned to hover in midair again! What happened? The Lieutenant and the Colonel stopped. Skybase's instruments are being to recover. The platform is beginning to sway towards another direction. The engines begin roaring back up. The two turn to each other.
Lieutenant Green:
Sir, all instruments are beginning to restore themselves.
A radio call is flashed on the monitor, and it's Captain Scarlet!
Captain Scarlet:
Colonel White!
Colonel White:
Captain Scarlet! What's happened? What's happening in Engineering?
Captain Scarlet:
I was able to restore power by just rebooting everything.
Lieutenant Green:
Sir, the ships are ascending back to Mars.
Colonel White:
Thank god for that.
Captain Scarlet:
Looks like that did the trick then sir.
Colonel White:
Well done Captain Scarlet! Well done! Skybase is safe.
Captain Scarlet:
What about the others sir? Are they alright?
Colonel White:
No Scarlet. None of them stood a chance. Not one.
Another call is projected onto the screen, Captain Blue!
Lieutenant Green:
Adam! You're alive!
Colonel White:
Captain Blue, report! Report Captain!
Captain Blue:
Well we all made it out ok. We're all out here in the desert. The Angels, Captains, everyone. And our crashed ships too. Some of our radios were still operational. Now we're just waiting out here for rescue. That's if the Mysterons have gone. Looked as though Skybase was about to plummet on top of us.
Colonel White:
The emergency is over Adam. Skybase is safe. For now at least. But we were lucky. Dead lucky.
