DEMON 17 | END III

BLOOD painted your sight as you collapsed on the floorboard in an unfamiliar room. Everything in this room was oddly in just one color; red.

"Do you like it?"

You turned to see the amusement in his demonic feature, he looked more intimidating.

"Decades of torturing humankind, I have finally got what I wanted." His lips lift in sickening grin, "Red Room!"

The said room was open, too open. It looked as if a shed could fit in – the gagging odor of rotten blood hit your nostrils. It took everything in you to not puke, it didn't go unnoticed by Kibutsuji.

"You don't reek human anymore." His fingers twitched as he remember the night he first saw you, "And now you reeked like me."

Pushing yourself off the ground, you note the glow of his plum eyes. His eyes grew bigger when you sniffed your torn kimono, "Why."

You blinked in perplex, "Excuse me?"

He gave no response and deepen his gaze with you, the color in them flare abnormally. The action struck to you as odd but kept your place, "What are you doing?"

He was left stunned.

"So it has no affect on you."

"What is?"

In a blink of an eye, another low–ranking demon fell into the room; smashing like a tomato but quickly regenerate as it stood.

It scan the peculiar room before paying heed to the two of you, the thing snarled.

And how he just came, he exploded. Chunks of his remains dart across the room, painting it new.

That's when you understand what he meant. He couldn't manipulate you like others.

"I wonder..." Taking one dangerous step, he examined your body. Everything looked ordinary apart from your right arm – gray.

"What brought you to the Demon Slayers when you're not them yourself?" Emphasizing 'them' as he await your answer, why did he only smelled it now?

"Why does it concern you?"

He cackled.

"Because."

Rolling your eyes, you scorn, "You're so unpredictable."

"One moment you were bashing about my demonic structure and now you're being a lady about being unpredictable?" He violently shook his head, "You mortals are just easy to read."

"What if I said you're predictable?"

Kibutsuji was given no time to respond when he used his arm as a shield to parry your attack. The closure between you two gave him the time to scrutinize your plum eyes.

"I've not cross path with anyone who has luminous eyes." A growl emitted from his throat, "Inborn that is."

A cast of icicles rise from the ground piercing his flesh but they rehabilitate in a blink, "As much as I want to admire your abilities, you're nothing but a threat. I don't see the offer of changing you into my disciple."
