( SEASON FOUR
EPISODE 3: ISOLATION )

EVERYTHING happened so quickly, the "virus" that was spreading around the prison was spreading out fast. As from what Hershel said, they could facing another outbreak. Patrick died, Karen was infected but she never turned. For the sake of James and Carl not getting sick, the two have to go into quarantine together along with the other kids. Rick said it was okay since the kids haven't been sick, but Carl and James we're both extremely pissed.

The two hate each other, just because James had a nightmare and slept in Carl's bed with him doesn't make them friends. "i know you hate it but listen, it's only going to be for a few weeks till this virus is laying down." Hershel explains to James who was packing his bag. James wasn't the one to complain about things but this, he hated this.

"Carl hates my guts." James said, "just ignore the kid, you guys don't have to sleep in the same room together. everything will be ok understand?" James looked at Hershel, "i just..."

"what if you get sick? or maggie? or even beth?" James questions, Hershel sighed. "don't worry about me, listen no matter what happens i'll always be here." Hershel smiles, James smiles back. "oh ok..i'll do it." he laughs, "just look after yourself, please?"

"i promise, James." Hershel kisses his head, then adjusting his glasses. "you know, your growing out of these." he says, "i know, but we'll just wait till my head grows big then it explodes!" he said sarcastically which made Hershel laugh. "remember, if anyone gets sick you let me or Rick know, ok?"

James nods, now walking to the place he had to stay in. "this is gonna be fun.." He said to himself, sighing in frustration.

...

"like this is so stupid man!" Carl exclaimed, leaving james having to hear the stupid boy bicker on and on about them being together with other kids. "Jesus grimes just shut the hell upp." he adjusted his glasses, "make me assface." Carl glared at him.

James rolled his eyes, "you know, for someone who doesn't like me you really never shut the hell up about me." James laughed, making Carl glare at him. "Whatever."
It was true, Rick thought that Carl and James always got along, and they didn't. Suddenly, Carl and James saw Hershel walk out which Carl spoke about. "where are you going?"
Hershel stopped in his tracks, "i'm down here away from ya'll cause you kids are supposed to stay away from me." He answered, "we've been walking the halls.." James said, him and Carl walking closer to his dad. "My dad told us to look out for everyone."

"Well, you two should keep your distance." He said, Carl and James stopped. "You're walking towards the exit." Carl says, "I need to go out there."
"So to the cell blocks?" James asked him. "The woods." He corrected. "Ooooh, so you're sneaking out."

"Don't need anyone worrying about me and i damn sure don't want someone telling me i can't go." Hershel says, referring to Carl. "Dad, we cant just let you go out into the woods by yourself."
"let me?"

"We can't stop you." Says Carl, "but i have to tell my dad."
"go ahead, then. i'll be out there by the time you find him." Hershel walked off, but Carl and James both followed him. "dad."
Hershel turns around and looks at the two twelve year old boys, "if you have to go then we'll have to come with you." Carl said, "Guys.."
"We have to."

Carl and James were with Hershel in the woods, watching for any walkers that seemed to be outside. "When did your dad give it back?" Hershel asked Carl, referring to his gun. "yesterday. after everything happened."

"you and James, have grown a lot these last few months. There's a responsibility about you two." He said, "i think it's done you good to step back." James looked at him, nodding. "Can't be like that all the time." Carl says.

"i would have been find on my own. it's peaceful out here." Hershel told him, "it is." James smiled. "These last couple of days, we might be safer outside those walls than in." Hershel made a point, the virus was inside the building, and being outside could make it better.

"No, we're not."

The three looked over to see a tent, slowly the three walked over. James and Carl both kept their guns pointed, then spotting a what you call "half walker" on the ground. "Let's wrap this up." Hershel says, another walker came. This time, it had a bear trap on its leg, Carl pointed his gun up but Hershel said he didn't need to so with that they all walked off, leaving the walkers there.

...

JAMES and Carl both hated everything so far, but the two did end up staying up and talking. Of course, the kids were asleep in their sleeping bags. The two boys were both awake and whispering, "I remember my third grade teacher didn't like me because i always had this thing where i drank chocolate milk then it squirts out of my nose." James explained, "ew, james.."

he chuckled, "i'm sorry mr bowl hair but chocolate milk is amazing." he confesses. "actually four eyes you know what's better?"
he eyed him, "chocolate pudding."

"wow....maybe you should marry it." James sarcastically says, "actually i should, thank you very much- wait no i would." Carl told him, smiling sarcastically. "of course you would."

"i mean chocolate milk? i'm sorry but no." he nods, "strawberry milk then." James said, "dude, strawberry isn't even a flavor." he scoffed dramatically, "excuse me, Grimes it's more than a flavor- it's overrated." Carl interrupted. James gasped, "you're the devil!"

"over"

"rated."

"absolutely not!" James exclaimed, "chocolate is actually overrated, i took a survey in second grade thank you very much." the two boys laughed, it slowly then died down as they just stared at each other. "i wanna see how you look like without glasses." Carl told him. He nods, "i never take these off."

"Just for a second? please??" james sighed, taking off his glasses which Carl never took his eyes off of him after that. "wait- can you see?"

To be honest, James could see just not far away. Maybe he needed contacts or something, "yeah..just not far away." he answers. "you look good without them, James. not saying you look bad with them on but- just stop talking, Grimes" the two boys laughed again, looking at each other.

"Well, i'm pretty tired." Carl yawned, "then go to sleep Mr Bowl cut."
"fine, goodnight four eyes."
