After Allison stabilized, Five locked himself away in his room. His heart rate accelerated as his eyes darted around the room to every place that Jane had been. His legs collapsed from underneath him and he crashed onto the bed. His head buried deep into his hands to help conceal his sobs. Number Five Hargreeves was a man who rarely cried. The only time he could remember was when the twins... He found it difficult to keep quiet. He missed Jane. He missed everything about her. Her smile, her laugh, the stupid look she would give him when before telling him off for being an idiot. He missed her touch, the lingering kisses. He missed the intricate patterns she would trace on his hand. He missed holding her in his arms as they danced to the silent of the night.
Five's heart broke with every second Jane wasn't there. The apocalypse was coming and he knew that he had to keep their promise. His head shot up as he heard a knock on his door. He rid himself of tears and pushed past a confused Diego.
"Are you okay?"
"It doesn't matter."

"Promise me something?" Jane asked as she balanced herself on pieces of rubble, jumping from one to the next. Five watched her closely, ensuring that she didn't hurt herself.
"That depends on what I'm promising," Five said. The wagon trailed behind him as they walked to find food or shelter for the nearing night.
"It's just when we figure out how to stop the apocalypse. What if something happens and one of us isn't there?" Five stopped to ponder it for a moment.
"There is a very high possibility that could happen, yes. But what about it?" Jane returned to the ground to face Five.
"If that happens would you be okay to leave me?" Five's breath caught in his throat.
"If you do the same for me. But it won't happen. I'll make sure of that."

"The bastard that nearly killed our sister's still out there, with Vanya. We need to go after her," Diego explained.
"Vanya is not important."
"Hey, that's your sister. A little heartless even for you, Five." The boy scoffed and rolled his eyes.
"I'm not saying I don't care about her, but if the apocalypse happens today, she dies along with the other seven billion of us. Harold Jenkins is our first priority." Five was lying to himself and he knew it. Harold Jenkins was not his first priority, Jane was.
"I agree. Let's go."
"You guys count me out. I mean, you know, no offense or whatever. It's just, I kinda feel like this is a whole lotta pressure on newly-sober me, so," Klaus patted his stomach to convince them he should stay.
