Presently, the head scientist led a small group down one of the many corridors, the group consisting of the two new skeletons that were right behind him, and Dr. Mary who followed from farther back.
He had explained why he wanted her assistance, and her being smart rather than stupid, agreed to the terms. Dr. Catrone's rules were simple: don't get too attached for soul failure was a high possibility with the artificial souls still being in an experimental stage, don't harm the skeletons in any way, and make sure they don't go getting into trouble. It was almost like babysitting, yet the children were speechless despite their physical and mental age.
She had to admit that watching the skeletons curiosity was quite amusing. Whenever another scientist passed, both skeletons stared at them for at least a good amount of seconds before turning away. 1.1 didn't care as much, always turning away sooner than the other. 1.2 on the other hand, stared for almost too long, wanting to understand more about the world around him.
They soon arrived to the old lab room the head scientist had changed into a safe room, or bedroom, for the two skeletons to share. He opened it up with a hand scanner by the side of the door, then he stepped inside, the others following behind.
The room had been changed a lot from its old appearance... The floor was the same, but a large blue colored square carpet sat in the center, adding more color, Then there was the walls that were also changed, now painted a sky blue color.
Resting on the center of the rug was a small dark oak table, big enough to do studying on, with two matching chairs near it. There were two beds, one for each skeleton, one on each side of the medium sized room in a corner, each bed with one side against the blue walls. By each bed, to the side not next to the wall, was a simple nightstand built of dark oak.
In an empty corner of the room was a small box of toys for entertainment along with a few puzzles. Then, next to the small toy bin there was a small book shelf, filled with books with one shelf dedicated to educational books, like textbooks of science and mathematical basics along with a few books about grammar and a little history. The rest of the shelf consisted of fiction.
Once in the room, both of the skeletons' eyes widened at all that was in it and the colors of it all. It appeared to be a lot to take in. Dr. Mary's eyes also widened, surprised that Dr. Catrone had found the time and the will to make such a room in the strict laboratory.
Dr. Catrone suddenly cleared his throat in the silence, grabbing everyone's attention. He then pointed at the two skeletons.
"This is where you two will be sleeping, eating, and playing when we are not busy with running a few tests and educating you." He explained, then gestures to the room and objects around them by throwing his arms out wide.
"All of this is yours!" He exclaimed with a smile. "If you ever need anything, there is a phone over there with numbers you can type in to contact us."
He pointed to a white phone attached to the wall in the only empty corner of the room. A few papers hung beside the phone, each paper taped to the wall.
"Sadly though, it will not be of much use until you both start speaking... Which considering your intelligence, shouldn't be too long of a wait." Dr. Catrone continued.
Both of the skeletons gave unsure nods, but understood most of it.
"Food and drinks will be brought at certain times each day." Dr. Catrone stated. "Once you start reading numbers and understand them and the clock, or the giant circle, on that wall over there could be useful. There'll be a paper attached to the wall, by the one of phone numbers, by the phone, telling when meals will be brought in and when you can expect visits from either myself or Dr. Mary."
