Cody wasn't thinking. She just saw that entrance and knew she had to make it there. She shot a robot chasing her, and shot one that gave her a hard time. She dodged lasers twice, and she swore she could smell burnt steak. She was at the entrance, and turned around. A robot was shooting at her. She fell to her left, glass shattering behind her, and then rolled to the right, creating a hole in the cement. As she was rolling, Cody swiftly took out a knife from her belt and threw the dagger right at the robot. He fell back, sparks shooting all around him, and his one red eye flashing, and one completely dead. Rena ran up next her and they both entered the shop. Cody knew that Rena had very less time before robots would come into the shop to look for her.
"Rena, after I time travel, I need to you to go into the storage room, there were a few guns laying around. Enough to get you through a day or two. I need you to go back to that barren. Use the ship from the garage. Just keep yourself alive and I promise you, in two days, none of this will have happened." She pulled Rena into one last hug, with tears threatening to come out of her eyes. She pulled away, and ran to the back of the shop. Cody could hear Rena scampering to the storage room behind her, and prayed to God for her safety. She looked at the time machine. One last time. She had to make it through. She pressed the red button, and watched the door go up slowly. It was annoying her. She ducked under as the door was still opening and pressed the close button before it had even completely opened. She set the time back to 2047, and braced herself. Like she expected, the machine started shaking, and screams filled the machine, but she tried to close it off. She gripped on the gun that she had brought with her, diverting her focus. And before she knew it, the shaking had stopped. She let out a sigh of relief. She opened her eyes to see the gate slowly opening. She had successfully reached the lab.
