(I couldn't resist putting this out today. I wasn't going to, but I thought I should. Also, Slight warning. Death, blood)
"Liza! No no no, Betsey, you're going to be just fine, ok? Just stay with me, please." Alexander was sobbing. His newly wedded wife, his everything, the person he loved the most, was laying in his arms, bleeding uncontrollably from a gunshot wound on her hip.
He didn't even know how it happened. All he heard was the gunshot, then her scream. Now, she could be dying, and it was all his fault.
"A-Alex?" Eliza looked weakly into his eyes. This only made everything worse, his sobbing didn't stop. She smiled at him, her eyes seeming to flicker in and out of consciousness.
"My love, your going to be ok. The ambulance is on its way." His hands shook as he held a cloth against her wound, trying to stop the bleeding.
"No. Stop it Alex, there's nothing you can do." Eliza whispered. Alexander shook his head frantically.
"Eliza, you have to stay with me. Please, I can't loose you! Not now." He begged. She chuckled a little bit.
"Can- can you sing our song? Just one last time." She requested. Alex hesitated, not wanting what was happening to be true, but nodded, not wanting to upset his love in her finale moments.
"Of course my love." With that, she smiled weakly, closing her eyes slightly, but still keeping them open.
You are my sunshine
My only sunshine
You make me...happy
When sky's are grey
You'll never know, dear
How much I love youHe paused at the next part, having to force the words out of his mouth.
Please don't... take my sunshine away
Eliza smiled at his words, slowly reaching up to him face.
"I love you my sunshine." She mumbled weakly. She was getting weaker by the second, and the weaker she got, the more frantic Alex got to keep her alive. He had to accept it, though. He blamed himself. All of it could have been stopped if he just went with her on her walk in the park. He came to check on her because she hadn't come home when she said she would, and she wasn't answering texts or calls, which she normally did.
Her scream.
The gunshot.
The stomping of the person who shot her running away.
He had heard it all. He could have stopped all of this. Time seemed to go slower and slower the more blood his Eliza lost. He brushed his hand over her forehead, giving it one last, soft kiss.
"I love you my sunshine." He mumbled. He saw her smile one last time. Them she was gone.
His Eliza was gone.
His sunshine was gone.
