It had been seven days since Elizas mysterious disappearance. Philip and Angie still weren't over it, asking where she was and when she'd be home. Alexander was now determined to find her, no matter the cost or how long it took.
He sat in his office, telling Angelica, who'd come to care for the kids while he worked, he was working on actual work. He wasn't, he was working on a plan to find his wife and mother of two. Originally, when he called the police about it, he was going to follow their directions and not do anything. But a week into this endeavor and not a trace of her, now it was something he needed to help with. As he sat on his desk, writing down all he could think of where to look, clues to find, and people to call to help, Angelica knocked on the door.
"Alexander? Can I come in?" She called.
"Of course!" He called back after a moment of hiding the paper titled 'Finding Eliza' and brought out an actual work paper. She was the only person that he wouldn't tell about this, she would make him not do it and let the police handle it. It had to be kept a secret from her. She walked in, closing the door behind her and smiling.
"Philip and Angie are sleeping." She whispered, as if they were sleeping in the room and she didn't want to wake them up.
"Thank you so much, Angelica. You really are a big help." He said a little louder then her. He looked up from his 'work' and looked at Angelica. She looked a little upset, which concerned Alex.
"What's the matter?" He asked. She seemed to snap out of a daze, looking back at his with sad eyes.
"I miss her Alexander. I know I could never know how you would feel, losing your wife and mother of your children. She was my sister, I would do anything to figure out what happened to her." She said in a hushed voice. Not quite a whisper, but still quiet. He nodded, not really know what else to say.
He still couldn't tell her, could he? No. Well,,, maybe he could? Maybe she could help him? But who would take care of the kids? So many questions filled his head as Angelica sat down in a chair. She insisted on keeping him company for awhile while he worked. He didn't mind, it was nice talking to his sister-in-law.
Now, he really was considering on telling her about his plans. Maybe it would be for the better? But he was still worried about who would take care of his kids. Who would come and check on them, or keep them company? Wait. He could figure that out tonight. What times he and Angelica would be home, and when they would be executing the plan to find Eliza.
It was now 9:00 pm, and Angelica said that she was going home. They both said goodbye, and when Alex knew she was gone, he brought out the plan and another separate piece of paper. He worked on the plan for another hour, thinking in desperation of all the events leading to Elizas disappearance. He could almost hear her voice saying, "Alexander, it's 10:00 pm, come to sleep." So he did it. He would sleep on it, and maybe tell Angelica about it tomorrow.
The next morning, 8:00 am
Alexander was in the kitchen, trying to follow a tutorial on how to make pancakes for Philip and Angie. He was failing at it miserably, and the two young kids laughed and giggled at their father trying to make breakfast.
"What are you two laughing at?" He mocked offense as he flipped a pancake, it almost falling on the stove.
"You dad!" Philip laughed again. Alex couldn't help but smile at them. They really were his pride and joy. They had some of Elizas features, Philip had her freckles, and Angie had her bright, bubbly, happy personality. They reminded him so much of her, he knew even without her there physically, it almost felt like she was there.
He finished up the pancakes, setting a couple on the kids plates with some syrup. He set some himself, and they actually tasted good, much to his surprise.
"How do you two like them? Did dad do a good job?" He asked. The two looked over and nodded happily. As the three of them finished up their pancakes, there was a knock on the door.
Knock, knock, knock
It definitely wasn't Angelica, she wouldn't knock like that. Once they put the plates away, Philip and Angie didn't even need to be told to go up to their rooms, they just did it. Alex walked over to the door right when the person knocked again. He opened it and an officer stood just outside.
"Hello sir, what seems to be the problem?" He asked, thinking how stupid it sounded once it came out of his mouth.
"Alexander Hamilton?" The officer asked. Alex nodded, stepping aside and gesturing for him to come in. He did, and Alex closed the door.
"We understand you and your family must be going through a lot, with your wife's disappearance and everything. But we think we may have a lead." The officer explained. Alex nodded, eager to hear what he had to say.
"Do you know anyone by the name of John André?" He asked. God, did he! The man who broke Elizas heart. He was insane, so insane they had to get a restraining order on him. Alex was fuming knowing he had something to do with it.
"I do. Does he have something to do with it?" Though he just assumed he did, Alex thought he better ask anyway. The officer nodded, brining out a file from his bag.
"We've had multiple people telling us that they saw him shorty after the reports of Mrs. Hamilton's disappearance. Some say they thought they saw them together, but didn't know for sure. By the time we got down there to check, they were already gone." He explained. By now, Alex wanted to break something. He had to tell Angelica. When she gets here, he would tell her.
"What can I do to help?"
