The walk home alone

Eva's Pov: 

It was a week until the ball. Chloe has sent a letter to all of us saying to go to the usual meeting spot today. I was walking towards Taylor's home to pick her up and then Space.  I wasn't really excited about the fact that I had to walk with those two. Whenever its those two you automatically feel like a third wheel. They both were oblivious to each others feelings,and it drived me absolutely insane. I decided that if both were flirting with one another I would finally set the record, that both reciprocate the others feeling. I knocked on Taylor's front door waiting for her patiently. Moment's later she walked out of her home. We walked away from her home and toward's Space's house. 

"I need advice." Taylor said. 

"About what?" I ask 

"Space." 

I knew exactly what she was talking about and why she needed advice. Maybe she'll finally tell her how she feels. 

"Okay go on." 

"Well I'm sure you know I like her but I'm just worried." 

"About?" 

"What if she doesn't like me back, Or she finds someone at the ball better than me?"

I laugh. "Are you kidding?, Space so clearly likes you back. I doubt she'll even come close to liking anyone at that ball. You know how she is about fancy stuff."

"Yeah, I guess your right.Thanks"

"No problem. Wanna race to Space's house?"

Before I could even finish my sentence Taylor was running down the cobblestone streets. I catch up to her and we race all the way to her house. Once there we were both tired and sweaty. I say we tied but Taylor say's she won. We get Space from her house and all walk to the park. I couldn't help but notice the secretive stares each kept giving each other.  I hope Taylor confesses to her later. 

Kara's Pov

As Kailie and I wait at the park for the others we decide to just run around and chase each other. We did this for a while until we saw Chloe walk up. We were all now waiting on Eva,Taylor,and,Space which we didn't mind. We conversed about all different things.  About the ball,dresses, and about the two new princess's that came to the palace. Chloe explained that their names were Clara and Ava and that she could tell they were fighting about her brother. In my personal opinion I don't think he's that gorgeous but again I don't even like guys so what do I know. Kailie on the other hand thought he was an angel sent to Earth.  She told me how a while ago that the prince used to hang out with the girls, but that it ended with a fight between Kailie and everybody else. Kailie apparently had a huge crush on him and all the other girls blamed her of using them to meet him. It eventually ended and they forgave Kailie, but Chloe and her brother had stopped coming by for a while. Now Chloe and Kailie sat together perfectly friendly. We waited around 15 min for the other girls to come. While we waited we talked about how our lives were. I've learned that only just  knowing Chloe for a few days that she will be a good friend. A few minutes pass and the trio of girls finally walk up.  We make room for them on the blanket. 

Third person pov 

"Hey guys" Space says

"Hey" Kara says back. 

As the group all talked for a while they saw a figure walking towards them. All the girls were all at the hangout so it was mildly confusing. 

"Damn it." Chloe says

"Who's that?" Eva asks concerning

"That's Ava. She's visiting the castle with her family for the ball." 

Ava makes her way to the blanket and all the girls sit there unsure of what to say. Chloe stands up and begins introducing the girls. 

"Hey guys so this is Ava." Chloe says in an over happy tone. 

"Pleasure to meet you all." Ava responds

"This is Eva,Kailie,Kara,Space,and Taylor." She says pointing at each of us. 

"The pleasure is ours." Eva says

"I don't want to intrude on anything, I'm sorry I should probably go." Ava confidently says.  

"Oh no It's fine please stay." Eva says. 

All the girls start introducing themselves to Ava individually and Ava did the same. They all seemed to get along just fine. All was going well until Taylor couldn't take this anymore. She asked Space if she would go on a walk with her. Taylor didn't see this but Eva smiled as they walked away. Taylor planned on telling Space at the ball but now seemed like a good time. She and Space just walked for a while with no talking. Soon enough Taylor was getting anxious of the uncomfortable silence. Space suddenly stopped tired of walking. 

Taylor's Pov

"Why are we walking?" She asks suddenly

"I have something to tell you."  I say my voice shaking.

"What." 

"I li-" 

"ke me?" 

I stare at her in shock. How did she know? 

"How did you know what I was gonna say?"

"Because I like you back." 

"You do?" 

"Yeah but."

"But?"

"I'm unsure I would be able to commit to a relationship yet."

"Wha-" I start heartbroken 

"I just these feelings are all new to me and i'm just scared that you'll end up hating me." Space says. "We already fight all the time, it may be just bickering, but if we are in a relationship it may turn into bigger arguments." 

I stare at her in shock unable to speak. I couldn't handle staring at her anymore. So I did the easiest thing. I walked away. I started to walk, hearing Space yelling at me to come back and to talk to her. But I just couldn't, my best friend and my crush just rejected me. If she reciprocated my feelings then why doesn't she ant to date. I walked all the way home ignoring Space's calls. I went to bed as soon as I walked through the door. Just to be done with this day. 

Space's Pov 

I chase after Taylor for as long as I could. I walk sadly back towards the other. They all looked so happy and I hated the fact that I might ruin the mood. I meant what I said to Taylor. I did like her but I did a short lie on the reason why I couldn't date her. As I walk back alone the first to notice Taylor wasn't there was Eva. 

"Where's Taylor" She asks concerning.

"Um we got into a little argument and she walked home." I reply. "Could we not talk about it right now." 

"But why" Ava says 

 "My brother told me what color he's gonna wear." Chloe makes knows while trying to change the subject.  

I silently thank her as Kailie, Eva and Ava asked about the color scheme. Chloe was always kind in those situations. Most of the time she was a sarcastic little cherry,(cherry: Vulgar term for a young woman.) but other times she was a mature person and helped out when one was uncomfortable. I admire her for that. For always being able to help someone out even if she has never been through the situation. As the sun starts to set I begin to walk home alone. Eva walked with Ava and Chloe so I was alone. I was supposed to walk with Taylor but since I was a idiot I let her walk away. Lost in thoughts I realize that my legs had carried me to the old wish pond that Taylor and I first met at. I sat on the edge of the pond just sitting there and thinking. I stroll back to my home I think of a plan to some how apologize to Taylor, and maybe get her to take me back.
