We were in Book's room watching trash movies and making fun of the horrible acting. Chris was interrogating her and she was surprisingly chill about it. He started off basic but it ramped up really quickly. Her name was Mythos Warden Book, she moved around a lot before settling in Crescent Hill last year at the age of nineteen.
"What's with the book you always carry around?" Chris asked. I flinched. Book tensed before exhaling slowly.
"It was given to me when I was a baby," she sighed. "Some guy named Raiden was there at my birth. Something about the magic of bonds, truth in time et cetera."
"Do you use it like a diary?" I asked in a nasal voice, twirling my hair around my finger. We laughed and she pushed me off the bed.
"I've never written in it. It writes itself," she answered while I got back up onto the bed. I looked at her confused and glanced at Chris who wore a matching expression. She laughed and nodded towards the book on her table. I picked it up and flipped through it until I reached the last page with writing.
"The lines are filling in for themselves?" I looked up in shock before Chris grabbed the book from my hand. He yelled and dropped it coddling his hand to his chest. I carefully picked it back up and flipped back to the page. "The book can only be held by the guy I'm supposed to be with. Why is she reading it out loud? Frost's phone is gonna get a message from White and Arthur from Bates. Wait...are these your thoughts?"
"Most of them. Sometimes there are pieces of the future in there. They sometimes happen days away or-" My phone chiming and Chris' ringing interrupted her. Chris got up and walked outside to take the call. "or minutes from being written but they always happen. It's cool, check your phone." she shrugged, picking up the remote. I opened up the message and knew why Leo called Chris.
DarknBroodin: We need to talk when you get back. Leo is annoying. -_-

I shot past the stairs and to my room on the first floor. This was where Jaden and I usually met to talk and as I assumed, he was there. He was sitting on the bed to the left of the fridge with a travel cup. His eyes met mine when I closed the door but turned back to the TV screen and casually sipped his drink. A smirk played at his lips.
"So how's your little Bookieboo doing," he teased. I strode across the room and punched him in his chest. He didn't even flinch. I sat nest to him on the bed and stole some of his popcorn. We sat in silence for a minute until he was ready to talk. "Why does Leo hate me?" he sighed. I couldn't help but laugh at the way the 6'4, eighteen year old definition of a bad boy pined over his mate.
"Stop over reacting. You weren't rejected and he doesn't hate you." I took his cup and sipped the drink he barely touched. "You bought me coffee? I was hoping it was bubble tea..." I frowned a little at the cup.
"He would if he knew," Jaden flopped backwards and rolled over. "They didn't have the white girl tea you usually get." I slapped him hard across his back and this time he hissed.
"The only person that would hate you if they found out would be Lilac," I teased. Violet was his partner in crime and wasn't seen anywhere without him. Jaden simply side eyed me. Leo hated her because one of her pranks sprained my wrist. "You need to tell him."
"I can't," he whined.
"You're such a girl sometimes," I sighed. "Freaking out because he yelled at you for...whatever it was that you did this time, hitting him every now and then, getting depressed and shit when he leaves."
"I'm not a girl, I ate the last of your apples and I'm always depressed," he defended. I smiled at his innocence when it came to his feelings. "I'm not ready to for this. I don't-"
"What's happening here?" Annabeth interrupted, looking between us both.. At this point, Jaden and I were cuddled together, the forgotten movie playing in the background. "I thought you were gay, Jaden." She fitted herself onto the bed with us and opened a box of nerds.
"Still no mate?" Annabeth glared at Jaden for a moment then sighed. "Sorry," he apologized. She put her arm around me to pat Jaden's shoulder.
"Hard to find a mate when you're sent around the world on time strict missions." She shook her head and poured a bunch into her mouth. "I'm only here for a week before we head to the Caribbean and as per usual I'm not allowed to be seen." I chose out another movie and put it on.
"Welcome to the mateless and depressed club." Jaden chuckled, but it hit something in me. I'm not a wolf, I don't get the assurance of a perfect love they'd eventually have. I guess I'm club president.

Hay hay! How ares? Sorry about the depressing chapter.
Question: Do you prefer tea or coffee? I drink both but I prefer coffee. My lack of sleep schedule has greatly festered my addiction.
