Chapter 12

MOONBYUL POV (Side Story)

When was the last time I feel so genuinely happy? When was the time when I feel loved and acceptance? Whenever I tried to remember all of those things happened from my past I couldn't recall them. I spend my youth days in a very secluded town together with my late stepfather who always abused me and she even tried to rape but I'm grateful that I accidentally stabbed him with a kinfie before I escaped and runaway from my town. Few days had passed when I had nowhere to go, I'm starving and had no money with me so it left me with no choice but do such things like robbery and pickpocketing being a minor has its perks, I doesn't even know how to celebrate my birthday so I always spend them on a lonely streets with beautiful lights and snow falling from above, I remember how December seems so insanely cold my thin and old clothes wasn't helping me to fight the freezing winter seasons until I met Yongsun whose an orphan and she brought me from where she stayed, not all people were good to me even if there's nun and civil workers who take good care of me there's still a bully kid who always picking on me and Yongsun. My everyday life was only struggles and hardships I'm still receiving bruises and wounds from bad people and it triggered my inner self to fought back and leads me to become a murderer but Yongsun never leave my side she stayed with me until one day we decided to runaway together. We became like a stray dogs on a streets I'm still stealing from people and Yongsun always nagged at me but soon she accepted me, I started to developed feelings for her and she reciprocated it so for the first time in my life I feel loved and acceptance by Yongsun's unconditional love for me she became my mother, sister, lover and bestfriend through every ups and down in my life that we became inseparable.

"I will never leave you behind Byul ah." Yongsun always told me that she always be there for me and I hold into that promises.

"I love you Moonbyul." Those words still fresh and vivid within my mind and soul, she always tells me every single day.

"From now on Byul ah, I want you to become a good person so we could lived a very happy life together." Yongsun always dreamt about being a nurse that she wanted me to become a doctor so we both reached for her dreams and achieved them from our fruit of labor of being a scholar and doing different part time jobs.

22nd of December when I was being followed and run after by my former friends who do bad things before that I already quit from their group. As I walked happily after my work I bought a cake for me and for Yongsun to celebrate my birthday for the first time before they recognized and run after so I run as fast as I could but still they tailing behind I didn't noticed the speeding car consist of a cheerful family of three singing happily, the driver who seems to be the father quickly turned the wheel before they caught in a tragic accident caused by me as my eyes met a young girl's tearful ones who trapped inside but from what I see her parents already dead they were covered by their own blood and suddenly I lose myself when I see blood running down from their head I remember my stepfather that I killed but before I could react or something the people whose running after me caught me and dragged me into the very dark alley far from the accident.

"Long time no see Moonbyul." The leader of my former group smirked at me holding a knife on his left hand.

"What do you want from me?" I coldly said before my both arms were being forcefully held by two other members from behind so I couldn't fight back.

"I see you're far from being a bad and dirty kid now, huh? What happen to our Moonbyul?" The leader pulled my hair behind and I angrily glare at him as I struggled from the hold.

"You know her?" The leader showed me a picture of young Yongsun that made me more angry.

"Why do you ask me about her?" I barks at him but I could heard my scream from pain.

"She's my younger sister and we lost her when she's five so I'm here to find her." The leader pulled the collar of my jacket.

"I don't know." I lied.

*SLAP*

""Don't you lie to me bitch!" I received a hard slap on my cheek when he didn't get the answer from me.

"Let's just kill him Jiwoong we're just wasting our time." I heard one of them trying to bargain with the leader and decided to just take my life.

"I will bring my sister no matter what it takes because TaeYeon will get mad at me." The leader named Jiwoong said.

"The boss?"

'TaeYeon was the name of their boss' I thought before I got punched on my stomach but before they could kill me I fought back at them with all of my strength I need to protect Yongsun from them no one could take away her from me.

"I. WILL. KILL. YOU. BITCH." Jiwoong tried to stabbed me but I'm much more quicker and skillful than them so I could only dodged before I got the knife from him and swiftly struck it on his chest.

"Jiwoong?" The others run into him so I quickly escaped from them and went home without tracing me.

"We need to runaway from here Yong someone's running after me." I pulled her inside our bedroom so we could packed our things.

"Why? Do you have debts again?" Yongsun frustratedly nagged at me as she quickly packed her clothes inside our luggage.

"Trust me I'm not doing anything." I held her face before I quickly peck her lips.

"I only trust on you Byul ah."

We decided to lived in Jeju island while we continue our study together as medical students, I need to reached our dreams for our future and after we graduated I will marry her as long as we were together we could lived happily and peacefully.

*Author's note: Yes, Yongsun was late Jiwoong and TaeYeon's long long sister whom they lost during a raid at the Kim residence. The Kim family are known from their wealth and well-known mafia bloodline because of drugs and other illegal transactions, TaeYeon was the only family member left since she escaped and lived as a normal person but her blood as a mafia remains. The said tragic car accident involving Moonbyul was literally Miyoung's family and her when two young girl's eyes Miyoung engraved every inch of the culprits face into her mind, the poor girl ended and grew up at the orphanage where Yongsun lived before together with Moonbyul while TaeYeon grew up into her father's cousin.*
