Lost and Found.

Chapter 3: Scissors

Daryl, Ty, Rick,Sasha,Noah and the two cops called Licari and Shepherd walked into the Grady Hospital. They had taken all their weapons with them them.

The exchange would happen in the small corridor on the Fifth floor of the hospital.

On the other side of the corridor was the leader; presumably Dawn, surrounded by at least 8 other hospital staff, one of which looked like a doctor with his white lab coat and glasses. He was the only one who looked like he actually belonged in this "hospital" the others where cops in their uniform. Hardly fitting for a place of healing.

Dawn stepped forward. "We have Beth, and we have Carol. You have Licari and Shepherd."
"One of yours for one of mine." Rick said.
"Alright." Dawn called,which was obviously the signal that meant bring Carol forward.

Out if the crowd came Carol in a wheelchair.
Being pushed by Beth.
Beth.

Daryl couldn't believe it. He was relieved, He was happy, and he was confused.
Carol was alive. But Beth...she was alive but she had cuts on her cheek and forehead. She had the tired circles under her eyes of not enough sleep.

She looked so weak, but Daryl knew she was strong, she is strong. She was strong enough to open him up the way no one ever has. She was strong enough to endure whatever this place had done to her.

She has a look in her eyes Daryl had never seen before, it was a look of determination. He wanted to run up to her and make sure that the people who had hurt her would never walk out if this place. He wanted to put a bullet though every one of their skulls, Hell! they didn't even deserve that. he'd let them turn.
He wanted to tell her how much she had been right, how she'd been right about how much he'd missed her.

Carol was safe, back on their side. Daryl took her by the arm and led her to the back. Now it was Beth's turn.
"Now Shepherd,then Beth" Called Dawn.
"Alright , go'n " He grumbled to Shepherd. Shepherd walked back to Dawn's side.

Beth was walking towards Rick, they shared a hug and Rick kissed her on the forehead. Then she started walking towards him. Daryl felt like crying,or hitting something,or just do something to celebrate getting beth back.

3 meters, 2 meters, one metre. Beth was there, she was grabbing his arm,he was guiding her back to the safety of the group. Daryl wanted nothing more than in that moment to hug her and never let her go.

Then Dawn's voice rose up again.
"Now I just need Noah. he was my nurse, he left and Beth took his place."

What! Why does the little bitch want Noah?

"The deal is done." Rick's voice was steady, there was anger behind it.
"Its alright i'll go!" Called Noah.

"No! your not going anywhere" Rick tried to stop Noah but he went to Dawn anyway. Then Beth ripped her arm away from Daryl's grip.

She was running to Noah now. "Wait!" she shrieked and threw her arms around him, but she wasn't looking at Noah, she was looking at Dawn.
She let go of Noah and started walking towards Dawn. Daryl's eyes where trained on her,watching her every move.

She stopped and looked Dawn in the eye and took a pause.
" I get it now "

Everything sped up, scissors where in Beth's hand and she plunged them deep into Dawn's shoulder.

After Dawn's original shock of being stabbed with a pair of scissors, she raised her gun to Beth's head.
She pulled the trigger.

Dawn had shot Beth. Beth was dead. No. No..
She fell to the floor, limp and lifeless,blood seeping out if the wound on her head.

In that moment Daryl couldn't think. He raised his gun and shot Dawn straight through the skull. She mouthed something, but Daryl didn't even try to make it out, she didn't deserve to live.

Beth's blood was on his lips, tears were running down his face. He briefly felt a touch on his shoulder, Carol. He turned his head away from where Beth lay.

He tried to speak to say something, anything, but no words cane out, just strangled noises.

"Its over. " Called Shepherd, who had seemingly taken Dawn's place as leader.

Thats when Daryl fell apart.
