2 Days later.

They had been driving for 2 days, trying to find a sheltered place to seek refuge.

Daryl hadn't spoken since Beth died. She was going to be buried today.

They'd picked a place in a wooded clearing, close to nature like she'd want to be. Father Gabriel was holding the ceremony, with a few verses from the bible. It seemed fitting really.

Rick gathered everyone into the clearing where the burial would take place.

Father Gabriel began his speech:

"We do not focus on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is seen is eternal.
In a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet for the trumpet will sound. The dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed."

They unwrapped her body from the sheets she was laying in and placed her in to Grave they had dug, not too deep so that to reserve energy. and not too shallow so no walkers could start to feed on her.

After all the many hours stood saying goodbyes and crying, and holding one another, Daryl and Rick where the only people left around the grave
Daryl had shared a little of what happened to Beth and Him at their funeral home, he had told them how he had chased after the car all night.

"I wont ask, Daryl. But I know how much it hurts, Its hard to become yourself again." Said Rick as he left.

Daryl felt his chest tighten and convulse. He fell to the ground, too overcome with grief to even hold himself up. He couldn't do anything to stop the relentless waves of sorrow and anguish that rose from him. He didn't care if every damn walker heard him.

"You're gunna miss me so bad when I'm gone, Daryl Dixon"
Her words played over in his head.

God he missed her. She was like the light at the end of the long, dark tunnel his life had been, through his father's beating, Merle's taunting, fending for himself in the woods, he made it but he had no doubt in his mind that there where not any good people anymore.

He threw down his Crossbow and cried, tears streaming down his face, onto the ground. He didn't understand his feelings for Beth, but now he knew he loved her, but it was too late.

He reached over to the grave and led his hand there, trying to find any comfort in the action, but there was none.
"I miss you Beth, you were right. we had something and it was taken from us, and i cant live with myself anymore."
He sat there for hours until the others found him staring into space, crossbow strewn on the floor, tears drying on his cheeks

He was broken, so utterly completely broken.
