We both sit down on the couch. Shane had his arms around me as I lean into his chest. We were in a comfortable sentence when I decided that I'd explain to Shane. "We were fifteen. Aurther let me out so I could see the real world for one year. I was so happy. Especially when I made my first friends, Marielle and Jack. Jack and I fell in love. At least that's what I thought. He and I started dating, but we got distant after a few months," I start to explain. Shanes grip becomes a bit tighter on me and I continue, knowing that he's listening. "I thought nothing of it at first. I was always told people get distant in a relationship. That's when Marielle and Jack started hanging out without me. He was cheating on me with my best friend and she knew I loved him. She took that from me. I went back to Aurther and never left again," I finish.

"I'm so sorry," Shane says.

"It's not your fault," I say. I wipe a tear that fell down my cheek.

"Why didn't you get help about Aurther than?" Shane asks.

"I couldn't. I was being watched 24/7. I wasn't allowed to have a phone," I say.

"Well, you're in luck," Shane says.

"What?" I ask.

"I just got a new phone. You can have my old one," Shane says grabbing a phone from off a table next to the couch.

"Everything is empty on there," he says, "You can put whatever you want to on there."

"Thank you," I say smiling. He nods and turns the TV on. We sit there and watch TV for a while.

About two hours later, there's a knock on the door. "I've got it," Shane says. He gets up and opens the door. "What are you doing here?" he asks.

"Um... Well, I," I hear Ryan.

"Dude, come on in," Shane says. I stand up and look over to see Ryan standing there with two tickets.

"Um, Marielle and I came to say goodbye. You know, we're going on a trip," Ryan says.

"Bye, Ryan," I say. I walk over to Ryan and hug him. He hugs back and Marielle stares daggers at me. "Don't worry, Marielle. I'm not like you," I say. I turn around and go into the kitchen. I just stand there because I don't know where anything is. I hear Ryan and Marielle leave and Shane walks into the kitchen.

"What are you doing?" Shane asks me.

"I don't know where anything is," I grumble. Shane laughs and goes into his fridge.

"Want a beer?" he asks.

"Sure," I say. He hands me a beer and I crack it open. I take a long first sip.

"You seem as if you've drunk beer before," Shane smirks.

"Aurther had it all the time," I say, "It takes the pain away." Shane nods understandingly.

"TV?" Shane says. I shake my head and laugh.

"Sure," I say. We walk back out to the couch and watch more TV. Shane moves to a channel that has a chick flick. "You watch these?" I ask.

"They help me understand women," he says staring contently at the TV. I laugh and watch TV as well.

Two hours later, I was laying on the opposite side of the couch of Shane with pillows and blankets all around me. On my lap, Obi, Shane's cat had fallen asleep. "Comfy?" he laughs.

"Yeah," I say. A few minutes later, Shane fell asleep. I close my eyes and fall asleep as well.
