"Fine, I did promise," she says rolling her eyes amusedly. "But I'll have to take him home first."
"Oh nice, I've been dying to see your house!" I say picking up Slippers leash and walking backwards just so I could see her expression.
"What? Who said I'd let you come in?" She asks raising one brow. "You're not even going in the right direction."
"Oh," I say stopping in my tracks. "Lead the way then captain," I say to Slippers and he immediately pushes me to the left guiding the way to another street.
"That's still not the right direction." I hear her say a few meters behind us. "You're such a dork, just follow me," she says amusedly and starts walking the opposite way, which would make sense since she did come from that way. Nice thinking Anna, but you should have thought of that earlier.
"How were your holidays?" I ask trying to make conversation as we walk side by side.
"Good, how was yours?"
"Great, but I missed you," I say bumping my shoulder lightly on her hers. "Did you spend it in Flagstaff with Lucia?"
"We were supposed to but she didn't want to leave Edward," she answers bumping my shoulder back, she didn't do it as lightly tho.
"Wow, so you spent it with Ed? I wish I could too but I'm happy he at least wasn't alone," I say suddenly noticing where we were heading to and I immediately felt out of place, the more we walked the bigger the houses were getting. "Did you two bond?" I joke trying to mask my discomfort.
"He's not too bad, I can see why you're friends, you two are very alike," she says stopping in front of a house with wooden details, her car was parked in the driveway so it must be it. It was enormous, it made my house look like a container.
The moment we came inside my chin dropped. "Is a teacher's salary that good?" I ask trying not to sound too awed as I take Slippers leash off. I've never been in a house this big, I bet her bathroom is bigger than my room.
"Definitely not, I inherited it from my father."
"Must be nice, the only thing I inherited from my mom is the looks, I'm not complaining though," I say plopping down on one of her sofas. "Do you live here all by your self?"
"Yeah," she says simply eyeing me. "Why are you sitting down?"
"Buuh that's sad, and I have to recover my energies, we walked a lot," I say feigning exhaustion.
"We didn't even walk half a mile," she chuckles.
"I want to see your room," I say out of the blue getting up and looking for Slippers. "Where's mommy's room? Please show me the way captain!"
"Can you stop trying to invade my privacy? Weren't you tired?" Daniella asks amusedly following me and Slippers up the stairs. "Anna, it's not that way."
"Oh," I say turning around and going the other way. "Buddy, your coordination skill aren't looking very good," I tell slippers as I look around until he stops by a door. "Is this it?" I ask Daniella that was just reaching us.
"Yeah," she groans.
"Good job buddy!" I say petting him. "Can I come in?"
"You came into my house uninvited and made yourself comfortable on my sofa, and you're asking for permission to enter my room after searching the house for it?"
"Yeah," I say simply.
She just rolls her eyes and opens the door. The room was clean and the bed was neatly done, yeah definitely not something I would do.
