Thank You

“To see so many people I grew up with here to support Mezo and I means a lot.” You start, looking out at the sea of people. “There is so much I wish I could say to all of you individually, and although I know some of you better than I know others,” your eyes traveled from Kirishima to Tetsutetsu, “it still means so much to have you all here. Who knew that I would gain such a large group of friends--” You stop yourself, looking over to meet eyes with Aizawa. “No. You all are like family to me. Hell, I wouldn’t be here as a hero, nor such a happy person, if it hadn’t been for Mashirao.” You laugh, as does the crowd. Satou pats Ojiro on the back, causing him to laugh softly and look over to you with a smile. “Again, for the hundredth time, thank you.”

With that, you take your seat and dip your head slightly as the crowd begins to cheer for you. Shoji smiles and presses a hand on your exposed shoulder, his eyes filled with love. “That was amazing, Hon.” He whispers to you as a waitress places a plate of food in front of you. You hadn’t even looked to see what was on the plate, more focused on the look in your husband’s eyes.

Husband. The word rang in your mind like church bells. You had seriously just been married to the man of your dreams, the one man you had loved more than anything. Your high school sweetheart. It was a dream come true, and you couldn’t be happier.

“I know that there are a few people in this room that could probably agree with me and do as I do, but I feel like it’s necessary for me to share my favorite memory with the bride and groom.” It was Kirishima’s voice, and he was holding a microphone that had been sitting on the stage in front of the long table. He was standing by his table that consisted of his friends and husband. “I remember when they had first met each other.” A murmur of oh’s and ah’s fill the room, causing the unnatural red-head to continue. “Shoji would come to me about (Y/n), and Mina would tell me that (Y/n) is coming to her about him. You guys were oblivious.” He jokes, looking up at you two. “I’m glad that you both finally figured things out.”

You laugh and clap your hands, as does the crowd. As he goes to sit down, he offers the microphone off to anyone else at his table and at the longer one atop the stage. Mina gladly grabs it and looks directly into your eyes. “My favorite memory was the first time we ever hung out. Ojiro wanted Shoji to meet you, and when we offered to come along, he rolled with it. I’m so glad we did, because I really loved shopping with you, girl! We gotta do it again sometime.” She smiled before offering the mic to anyone else.

To your surprise, Bakugou was next to grab it. He cleared his throat and looked over to Shoji and you. “I may not have been terribly close with either of you extras in school, but I wouldn’t have been able to do something extremely important if I hadn’t reached out to Shoji.” The ashy blonde gives a rare smile while kicking Eijirou’s chair. Although he hadn’t said it, the both of you knew that he was trying to say thank you. You could only nod as Sero grabbed the mic and began to go on about something that happened to him and Shoji as third years.

That’s what the party consisted of for about the next thirty minutes; lots of laughter came from everyone as people began to tell their favorite memories and occasions with you and your husband. Aizawa spoke, as well, telling the group how honored he was to actually be attending some of their weddings.

“To have made such an impact in some of your lives, it is something I wasn’t sure I would be able to do with anyone after starting at UA. I wanted to continue teaching, though it was very hard for me to focus on being a teacher and the citizens of the cities.” He looked down to his wife, then back up to you. “When (Y/n) asked me to attend her wedding, I was honored. I hadn’t been expecting to keep such close contact with any of my graduating students, though she really seemed to make an extra effort. Even when she asked me to walk her down the aisle in place of her father, I--” He suddenly stopped, causing everyone to look over at him. He had a hand pressed over his stubble-covered chin and mouth, teary eyes looking up to meet your’s. “It truly meant quite a lot to me. Thank you for allowing me to do such a great deed.” With that, he offered the mic off to anyone else before taking a seat.
