~Draco's POV~
Pansy and Blaise don't look over when I enter the common room, so I just stand there for a minute. How am I going to explain this? Sure they know that Harry and I aren't exactly enemies anymore, but they don't know that we may be more than friends either. Blaise doesn't even know I'm into guys! I can't clear my head enough to think of a sensible plan, so I decide to just go for it. I walk over to where Blaise are sitting. They don't say anything as I sit down across form them. They just watch me, waiting for me to say something.
"I erm, I am- You know..." I shake my head and try again. "What do you want to know?" I don't know where to start. Hopefully they can give me something and I can build off of that. Blaise looks at Pansy and shrugs his shoulders. Pansy rolls her eyes at him.
"Everything, Draco. We want to know everything." she says staring at me seriously. That wasn't helpful. The knot in my stomach tightens and I wring my hands together.
"Alright I guess." I take a breath and look at Blaise. "I'm gay." I close my eyes and wait for him to scream at me. Nothing happens. I open my eyes. Blaise seems unimpressed and Pansy is smiling.
"Okay... and?" Blaise asks waiting for me to go on.
"And I- I think I like Harry Potter." I say blushing. Blaise just smiles and Pansy squeals.
"Good for you Draco." Blaise says. I blink in surprise. They don't even seem upset or shocked... I thought they would at least be confused. Their reaction, which was next to nothing, made me shocked instead.
"You're not... mad? Or upset? Or even surprised?" I ask looking between the two of then. Pansy laughs and Blaise shakes his head.
"Of course not. We're your friends. We support you no matter who you chose to love." Pansy says reassuringly. Tears start to form behind my eyes.
"Thank you guys. No one's ever cared for me like that. I think my parents would kill me if they found out." I take a shaky breath. Pansy comes over and hugs me and Blaise sits down next to me and puts a hand on my shoulder.
"We're always here for you man." Blaise says. I smile and wipe my eyes. Pansy gives me a mischievous glance and walks back to her seat.
"That may be out of the way now, but we are still not done with this conversation." She says. "What has happened between you and Potter so far?" Blaise gets up from next to me and sits by Pansy again. I look away trying to cool my face down, but I can still feel their gazes on me. I turn back to them after taking a breath and explain everything. The library, the infirmary, the bathroom, the broom closet, lunch. Everything. The only thing I leave out are Harry's secrets and my Dark Mark. The reaction I was expecting earlier comes now. They both looked shocked, Pansy with her eyebrows raised and Blaise with his mouth open ever so slightly. My face is red from recalling the moments I shared with Harry. When I'm finished, I wait for one of them to speak. Pansy recovers first.
"So let me get this straight, well not exactly straight..." Blaise elbows her in the ribs. "Ow! Okay, okay. I'm serious now." She takes a breath and looks at me. "YOU KISSED HARRY POTTER, more than once mind you, AND DIDN'T THINK TO TELL ME?!" Pansy is standing by the time she's finished yelling. I blush again and shush her. She pouts as Blaise tries to get her to calm town and sit on the couch. When everyone is settled again, I answer her question.
"Yes, yes I did and I'm going to Hogsmeade with him and his friends this weekend." I say calmly. Pansy squeals again. I look at Blaise and we both roll our eyes. Who knew Pansy was so much of a fangirl? Once I've answered every question Pansy has, we shift the conversation and talk about 'normal' things. It's eight o'clock when I look at the clock. I decide to go upstairs and get some homework done before Astronomy at 10. I excuse myself from the group and head upstairs to my dorm.
I have Charms homework. I also didn't do my homework from yesterday's classes, Transfiguration and Divination, so I need to finish that too. I sit down on my bed and start with the notes from Transfiguration. It takes about half an hour to copy them down. When I finish, I move on to the Divination homework. It's dumb and simple, so it only takes about fifteen minutes. Lastly I do my Charms work. It took a while to figure out, but it was quite easy to complete once I did. I finish at 9:37, so I decide to rest until it's time to go to Astronomy.
Blaise comes into the dorm about ten minutes before class begins. He grabs his stuff from his trunk and I grab mine.
"You ready?" he asks. I nod and follow him down to the common room. We meet Pansy there and head to the Astronomy Tower.
~
When we reach the base of the steps I spot Harry. Pansy must see him too because she smirks and pushes Blaise ahead. I shake my head and walk over to where Harry's standing.
"Were you waiting for me?" I ask with a smirk on my face. He blushes slightly, but smiles.
"In fact, I was. Shall we?" Harry motions towards the spiral staircase leading to the tower. I smile and respond with "We shall."
My hand itches to grab his as we climb the steps, but I hold back because it may make him uncomfortable. I stare straight ahead and try to ignore it. To my surprise, I feel something warm grasp my own hand. I look down to see Harry's hand in mine. I look at him, but he is still staring ahead. I smile and squeeze his hand lightly. The corner of his mouth turns up ever so slightly and we go to join the rest of the class.
Still holding hands.
