The case was kept in between the school's premises only. Hindi hinayaan ng Delian board of directors na makalabas ang pangyayari at kumalat. No one from the population of students dared to share any hints, photos, or snitched on social media 'cause this was a part of the school's code of conduct. I wouldn't want to see the end of it kapag nahuli ka.
Nasuspinde rin ang klase matapos ang sunod-sunod na pangyayari. It was 3 deaths in total, in just one day. Dahil doon, hindi na namin alam kung hahayaan pa nilang matuloy ang klase bukas. It's only Monday today, so we somehow need to go through the whole week first either suspended or force everything to go back to normal.
"How about you, Marie? What do you want?" Inabot sa akin ni Earie ang kanyang iPad upang mamili ng pagkain galing sa kanyang Grab app.
The cafeteria is closed since that was where the incident happened so we decided to order online na lang. Mabilis kong ibinalik sa kanya ang kanyang iPad upang ma-place order na niya dahil kanina pa nagrereklamo si Ausell na nagugutom na raw siya.
"Charteris, let's play Valorant! Tara Isaac." Ausell exclaimed when he got tired playing on his phone, may patapik pa sa balikat 'yan.
Charteris shot him a glare nang mayugyog siya nang kaunti dahil sa pagtapik ni Ausell. "I'm reading."
"Ano ba 'yan, wala namang pasok. Tara Isaac!" Lumapit si Ausell kay Isaac at itinutok niya ang kanyang daliri sa mukha nito na parang baril ang nakatutok. "Bubuhatin kita."
Napangiwi si Isaac at umiling. "Ngayon na ba? I didn't bring my gaming lapto-"
"Oo, ngayon na!"
"Ausell, this is the girl's dorm, so please lower down your voice." Suway ni Earie.
Ngumuso naman si Ausell at humalukipkip. Charteris continued his reading, while Isaac is facing his Macbook and skimming through a power point presentation. Earie and I are just sitting on her bed.
Lumapit si Ausell sa gawi namin at naupo sa gitna namin ni Earie. "I brought my gaming laptop, though. Maybe I'll play Valo alone na lang."
Weirdo. If he decided to play alone, then why did he have to sit in between me and Earie? Pasikreto akong umirap.
"Do you play Valo, Marie?" He turned to me.
"Oh, no...." I heard Earie say with her eyes widening.
Bago pa man ako makasagot ay hinila niya na ako patayo at iginiya paupo sa sofa ni Earie where Charteris is currently reading his book nonchalantly. Nagtama ang tingin naming dalawa sa maikling sandali, and he used that as an opportunity to raise an eyebrow at me.
"I'll teach you." Ausell announced kaya lumipat ang mga mata ko sa kanya, he was already able to open his laptop when I looked his way, hindi ko man lang nakita kung saan niya iyon hinugot!
Wait, did I agree with him in the first place? Oh, forget it, I think wala rin naman akong magagawa.
He opened his gaming laptop and as he was typing his password, he kept on getting it incorrect. He wast typing it fast like he is rushing. Napakurap ako at tumingin sa kanyang mga daliri. Then my eyes travelled up to his elbow and then his arms. Is he shaking?
"Kalmahan mo." Awat ko sa kanya nang mapansing nagkatimer na ang laptop dahil sa multiple attempts na puro mali.
"Mygosh, did you forget your password again, Ausell?" Earie's faint voice asked from our small distance.
