Chapter One

Cast:
Emily Pauli- medium long blonde, curly hair
Amber Tanjung- dark brown, straight-wavy hair
Rayen Ziesenheim- light brown hair, red hair dye from the roots down, low messy bun.
Annie Olzewski- short medium light brown, naturally highlighted frizzy & curly hair
Cassie Long- medium long, dark brown hair, wavy-curly hair
Brooke Parke (me)- light brown, naturally highlighted, cut to fall over the shoulders
Story takes place in Malibu, California.

"No no no that's not how it works!" Emily giggly exclaimed as laughter burst from everyone's mouths.

"Ugh I don't want this night to end! Best girls night we've EVER had. All y'all agree?" I said, full of giggles and sprite.

"Ping, ping, ping, ping" various noises go off throughout the room.

"Ok wait is everyone getting the same notification cuz that's funny" Cassie laughs as we check our phones.

"What the heck? Guys look!" We all gather around Amber's shoulder with confused emotions.

"Wuhan, China's CoronaVirus has made its way to the west. The first official case in the United states is in San Francisco, California and has been confirmed" As Amber read the title of the News App article everyone's fun slowly drained away.

"Wait, I'm confuzzled..." Annie said anxiously.

"Oh no this is badddddd. Really bad, I need a chill pillllllllllllll" Cassie cries out as worry fills our night.

Annie is vigorously tapping her foot in the corner as her expression is getting more and more mad.

"Guys I'm confused!" She shouts as everyone talks over her.

"Guys I'm-" we all cut her off.

"CONFUSED!" Everyone exclaimed loudly.

"We got that! Let me explain...there is a virus that could kill millions of people! I said with too much of a readably sad expression on my face.

Silence curses the room as we try and take in what is about to happen to our future.

"........I'm sure that...it'll be ok..right?! I mean let's not freak out just yet, it's one case in one contained place." Rayen tries to calm everyone down but so far it's not working.

"Hey Encyclopedia Brown, how far is San Francisco from here?" Emily looks at me with a scowl on her face but happily answers.

"Ugh San Francisco is 392 miles from Malibu dummy"
She returns the favor of nicknames back to me as we are trying to reassure each other that it's pretty far away.

"Is school gonna close?! Is this gonna get bad?! Oh my god we're gonna die! What if-"

"Annie shut up!" Rayen cuts off Annie and silence fills the room.

"But-"

"Nope" Rayen snaps.

"Uh!-"

"Nada"

"Ray!"

"Shh! We'll figure it out" I whisper scream trying to calm my voice.

"But Brooke!" Cassie screams.

Look...It'll be ok. Let's have a fun Christmas break and not worry. Now let's turn the music back on and have a good time." I say as everyone clearly notices that I need a break from this conversation.

"Ok, ok, let's do this. Cassie, crank the music." Rayen says confidently.

~I have a feeling this is gonna get bad~
