Chapter 2

"Hey Brooke!" Amber practically screams as I walk through the doors.

"Dude, dude, I got like two hours of sleep. I have a headache, remember?! " I snap with attitude.

Oof, sorry I forgot" Amber says apologetically.

"Oh hey B!" Emily walks through the doors down the hall and see's Amber and I.

"Oh dear god that was loud..." I slap my hand on my forehead and slowly walk to my locker.

"So...is no one really gonna bring up the news that we got?!" I exclaimed as my locker door swung open and the group slowly arrived to the lockers.

"Hold on guys-" Amber grabs my arm and pulls me out to the hall.

"I know you kinda had some problems last night so I didn't want to make it worse, I'm sorry I just-"

"Don't sweat it! I just don't know how to tell them...if I even want too" I say looking back worriedly.

"Well maybe you should start with 'Hey guys my parents are splitting up'?" Amber looked at me with sympathetic eyes.

I just stand there for a second taking in what she had just said. It just all seems so surreal.

"I'm sorry, you know, it sucks" Amber comfortingly shrugged and we walked back.

"Where were you guys, look!" Ray pulls out her phone and holds it to a place we can all see.

"No way...no way...NO WAY, NO WAY!" Jack stared at Emily with confusion and just scoffed.

"EMILY!" I yelled in an angry whisper.

"What?" Emily said cluelessly, having no idea why it was painful to hear her yell. Why can't more than one person remember that I got like 2 hours of sleep.

"Amber and I already got that earlier lol" I say, totally regretting my choice of words.

"Did you...just-" Mocking my words, Ray smirked and rolled her eyes jokingly.

"I actually can't believe school might be closing, like when?! Will we need to come back and get our stuff?! What's going to happen, are we-" Cassie cut off Annie.

"Dude! You gotta stop with that or I might just hurt you" she glared at Annie but we all just started laughing hysterically.

"Hhhhmmh" Mrs. Bates clears her throat in our direction.

"Sorry" we all said simultaneously, laughing as we walked away to the breakfast area.

"Oh and...-" Annie's voice faded away while I zoned out. As we were walking down the long hallway I thought to myself, "wow, how did I find..such..amazing friends."

"Ooh what are we eating this time!" Emily exclaims to the group.
