I reviewed my diary again. For three days, I have been trying to regain control of my life. I’ve been at school and I went to the Mystic Grill yesterday… I slammed the diary shut.

This was really my life... Why couldn't I be normal? I sighed and got off of my bed. I exited the room and looked at the staircase. I was going to do something outrageous and stupid. I hoisted myself onto the railing and pushed, so that I was sliding down it. I laughed and squealed. Until I saw that the railing was ending. Why didn't I think of this?! I flew off the railing and landed on the floor with a thud. "Ouch... Ow..." I rubbed my back. Holy crap, Ella! You're just the sharpest tool in the shed, aren't you? I walked into the kitchen and got an ice pack out of the freezer. I placed it on my lower back and sat on the couch.

Elena walked in... At least I think it's Elena... She sat next to me, "Hey sis... How are you?" So it was Elena! I smiled, "I'm okay... Well, not really... I slid down the railing and landed really hard on my bum!" Elena laughed, "Bum?" I nodded, "My dad was British..." I sighed and removed the ice pack from my back. Elena sighed and pursed her lips, "I have a question... Do you trust me?" I nodded, "Of course! You're my sister!" She nodded, "Have you told me everything? I mean everything, Ella." I nodded. She sighed, "Really? The doctor pulled your file, Ella. He asked us if the last accident you were in gave you memory loss! Only Damon knew the answer! Do you know how stupid I felt, not knowing anything that the doctor asked me those questions?" My eyes clouded with tears, "I'm sorry! Some secrets are stronger than family, Elena! I'm allowed to keep things to myself!" She narrowed her eyes into slits, "You didn't keep it to yourself! Damon knew! Hell, even Stefan caught on! But me? I remained clueless! I'm supposed to protect you!" I clenched my hand, "How are you going to protect me from something that happened in my past? You can't change your past, Elena! But you can hide it!" She smacked me. I held a hand to my burning tear stained cheek and stared at her in disbelief. Stefan came down the stairs and looked at the scene in front of him. He narrowed his eyes, “Elena… I think you need to leave.” Elena looked at her hand, “Ella. I’m so sorry! I didn’t-” Stefan glared at her again, “Leave.” She looked at me and then ran out of the door. Stefan moved my hand off my cheek, “Are you okay?” I stared into the distance, “No… I’m not… My own sister… Slapped me. What’s wrong with me?” Stefan shook his head, “There’s nothing wrong with you.” I laughed dryly, “I push people away. I have this… This bubble around me and if anyone gets to close I start pushing… I just… I just didn’t want anyone to know.” Stefan nodded, “I had kind of expected it for a while and-” A sharp knock cut him off. I hopped off of the couch and opened the door.

“Tyler? What’s wrong?” He shook slightly and looked up at me, “I’m a- I’m a werewolf… I know it-” I hugged him, “I can’t imagine how hard this must be for you… Are you okay?” He stared at me, “You believe me?” I nodded, “Yes. There’s a lot you don’t know, Tyler. A lot that I want to tell you, but… It’s not for me to tell. I heard that… That you had to kill someone to trigger this…” He nodded, “It was an accident… Matt went all AWOL and then Caroline knocked him out but then Sarah came at me, so I pushed her and she hit the desk and… She died.” I hugged him, “Listen. Drive me to Caroline’s house.” He nodded and I followed him to his car.

I knocked on the door. A man opened it, “What?” I looked behind him, “Is Caroline home?” He nodded and stepped out of the way. I walked up the stairs, into her room. “Caroline…” Although we didn’t get along at first, she’s changed. We were pretty good friends now. She rose from her bed, “What?” I leaned towards her, “Tyler’s a wolf. You were there when he turned so maybe you can help more. You need to tell him.” She gasped, “Tell him? But, Damon will kill me!” I crossed my arms, “He’ll have to get through me first.” She smiled, “All right! Tyler, you may want to sit down!” Tyler gulped and sat down. Hmm, they would make a good couple! I smiled and excused myself. I left Caroline’s house and walked towards the grill.

As I walked into the grill, I saw that Aunt Jenna was talking to a girl, who was staring dreamily at Damon. Oh, hell no. I smirked as I came up with a plan. I walked towards Jenna, “Hey have you seen my boyfriend?” Jenna furrowed her brows, “You have a boyfriend?” I nodded, “Yeah. Damon and I are back together!” Jenna smiled, “I’m happy for you. He’s over there,” she said, pointing at him. The smile on the girl’s face dropped and I smirked, “Thanks, Jenna.” I walked to Damon, and threw my arms around him, covering his eyes with my hands, “Guess who?” He chuckled, “Would it be my crazy and beautiful girlfriend?” I mock gasped, pulling my hands away from him, “Are you cheating on me?!” He laughed, “I would never.” I kissed him softly, “And I love you for that.” I patted his cheek and sat down on the stool next to him. I saw Matt and waved him over, “Hey Matt!” He walked over, “Hey… I thought you hated me.” I sighed, “I’m a very forgiving person if you give it time… So, I heard you got Jeremy a job here! He’s not drinking all the alcohol is he?” Matt laughed, “No. He’s a little frustrated but other than that, he’s perfectly fine having a job. How’s Elena?” I grimaced, “I refuse to talk about her.” Damon put a hand on my shoulder, “Matt, a minute alone.” Matt furrowed his brows and left.

Damon turned me around, so that I was facing him, “Alright. What happened between you and Elena?” I scoffed, “She slapped me. You- You promised that you wouldn’t tell! I wrote it in my diary, Damon! You promised!” He held up his hands, “I didn’t tell her. The doc did.” I ran my hands through my hair, “Sorry… Gosh! Why did I have to get hit by a car? Why me? What- Gabby!” I ran towards the girl and hugged her, nearly knocking her down. I released her, “Where’s Marissa?” She frowned, “She left town for a little… I shouldn’t have made you leave. I feel like this is my fault, you know?” I shook my head, “It isn’t.” I sat down at a booth with her, “You, missy, need to redo my highlights. They’ve faded.” She giggled, “You’re so random sometimes!” I laughed, “Well, that’s just me!” I leaned forward, “I am going to set you up with someone!” Her laughter ceased, “What?” I nodded, “Mm-hmm. You see the blond dude.” She nodded, “Ooh! Eye candy!” I giggled, “Hey! Matt!” I waved him over as Gabby pulled her shirt down a bit. I laughed, “You don’t need to do that! He’ll like you immediately!” Matt came over, “What?” I pulled him into the booth, taking his tray, “This is Gabby! You’ll like her!” I left the booth and took the tray into the back room.

“Hey! You can’t be in here!” I giggled, “Hello, to you too, Jeremy! And to think I was going to work here! Heard you guys needed a bartender!” He nodded, “Yeah. Ever since Vicki passed…” I gasped. Elena had told me about Vicki and how Jeremy had loved her. “I’m sorry.” He nodded, “Ah, it’s okay. I could see she loved Tyler and not me…” I nodded, “She was kind of a whore, from what I’ve heard.” He smirked, “Yeah. Kind of.” I pushed the tray into the sink and hoisted myself onto the counter, “So I heard you died and then Bonnie brought you back… What’s going on between you two?” His eyes widened, “Yeah, uh, she helped me… She’s pretty cool and-”

“Oh my gosh! You like Bonnie! You like Bonnie! Oh! I can see it, Bonnie Gilbert! I can’t believe you like-” Jeremy smacked his hand over my mouth, “Shh… You never know who might be eavesdropping.” I rolled my eyes, “Leave, Damon!” Jeremy furrowed his brows and Damon waltzed into the little kitchen, “Sup Baby Gilbert, Ella. I’ll be leaving now, if you need me.” I rolled my eyes, “We won’t need you, stop being so cocky.” He stuck his tongue out and left. I got off the counter, “Hey! Put in good word with the boss man for me.” Jeremy nodded and I left.

I walked through the school hallways. I stopped when I saw the door I was looking for; Alaric’s. I opened it, “Hi, Mr. Saltzman!” He smiled, “It’s six on a Friday. You should be partying.” I laughed, “The doctor strictly told me, ‘Ella… You may not party or consume alcohol as it may affect your health.’ And I just told him to stick but… Doctor’s orders.” He laughed, “Of course. And to think you used to be a rebel.” I furrowed my brows, “When?” His eyes darkened, “Oops. I must’ve meant Katerina.” He knew about Katherine? He narrowed his eyes, “You’ve been really bad. All this time, you’ve been trying to protect your sister, when all she’s doing is hurting you.” My eyes widened, “How did you-” He grabbed my arm, “Do you think I would not check up on my Doppelgangers? Allow me, to properly introduce myself, love… My name is Klaus.” I gasped and tried yanking my arm away from him. Alariklaus smirked, "Now, now... Don't need to do that. You'll only bruise. Afterall, you're only a human." He knocked my head against the door and I blacked out.
