ABOUT TWO MONTH LATER, Brooklyn sat on the couch in her living room with her Dad while they watched Christmas movies. Brooklyn had a boot on her leg where she got clawed by the demo-dog. The claw mark caused a lot of damage internally, messing up a few nerves in her leg. After the fight with Billy and all the running around, the girl messed up her leg even worse, dislocating it from its socket. After a long surgery, her leg was in recovery mode. She now had to walk with crutches for a while and a big boot on her leg but it didn't bother her until tonight.
She was supposed to be going to the snowball with her friends but her leg is so bad that she can't dance or do anything that you should do at the snowball so, she voted to stay home and spend time with her Dad. Her friends were very disappointed that she wasn't going but Brooklyn told them that she will go next year and they shouldn't not go just because she isn't. The boys listened but a certain ocean eyed girl didn't.
"I don't get why all the reindeer made fun of Rudolf, I think his red nose is sick," Lenny says with a goofy grin on his face.
Brooklyn laughs at her Dad, "They made fun of him b-because he is different, normal p-people cant handle different," Brooklyn says with a frown on her face.
Lenny notices his daughter's attitude change. He reaches for the remote, pausing the movie while scooting close to his daughter. "What's wrong princess?"
"Nothing, I-I'm fine," Brooklyn lies, fake smiling at her Dad.
"Brookie, I know when you are lying. The sparkle in your eyes disappears when you lie. Just like your mother," Lenny says sadly to his daughter.
