A BRIGHT WHITE LIGHT BLINDED BROOKLYN AS SHE OPENED HER EYES. When she was finally able to see, a paramedic was standing over her body with a flashlight shined in her face.
"Hello? Can you tell me your name?" The paramedic asks the girl while running multiple tests on her. She was on a bed in the back of an ambulance in the mall parking lot. Outside the ambulance doors, multiple military vehicles and helicopters arrived as they start rushing towards the mall.
"Umm Brooklyn A-Ace," The girl responds to the best of her ability. Her throat croaks as she realizes how dehydrated she was.
The paramedic hands her a water bottle, helping her take a sip. As soon as she takes the water out of her mouth she asks "Wheres Max? Wait wheres m-my Dad?"
"I'm sorry I don't know," The paramedic shakes his head.
Brooklyn looks down at the multiple IV's in her arm as she rips them out and jumps out of the bed. Before the paramedic could stop her, she already jumped out of the back of the truck in search of her girlfriend. After a few minutes, her eyes finally lock with a pair of ocean eyes from across the parking lot as she sprints to the best of her ability to Max.
As soon as she reaches the girl, she pulls her into a bone-crushing hug as Max sobs in the girl's arms. "He's gone Brooklyn, he's gone," she cries
Brooklyn nods her head slowly, knowing exactly who she's talking about.
"I'm so so so sorry," Brooklyn's eyes water as she runs her hands through Max's crimson red hair.
They stay in each other's arms for a while, enjoying each other's company until they finally pull away. Brooklyn leaves a long kiss on Max's head while wiping away her tears.
Brooklyn noticed that behind Max, Joyce, and Murray walked out of the mall in some time of Russian Soldier uniform.
Brooklyn smiles when she realizes that her Dad and Uncle Jim should be walking out any minute but as soon as she made eye contact with Joyce, her entire world stopped.
