The girl walked around the city all day and nothing interesting happened to her except for the thief incident. She was looking for inspiration everywhere. But her task was difficult.
"Why were the most important people not present at the meeting? It would have been much easier to find the theme if I could talk to them." She felt that her legs were getting heavier. When she reached her favorite cafe, she opened the door with her whole body and barely crawled to the counter. Finally, she could sit on one of the high chairs and put her head on a wooden piece of furniture. As the café didn't have many customers at this time, she didn't have to wait long for a familiar face to appear.
"Who do my eyes see? Isn't that my favourite customer? " The tall man in the apron smiled warmly, immediately making the girl feel better. His smile could comfort literally anyone, no matter how depressed they were.
"Hey Hongjun... Can I get--" He cut her off.
"The usual? I'm on it. "
"Thanks... Every day I finds out how much the school nickname fits you... You really are an angel." Girl watched every smooth move barista made. He moved with such gracefulness and the certainty that she felt as if he was dancing."So... Tell me, what happened today that you're sitting here now with your tail between your legs?" He looked at the girl from time to time, but he was still focused on his work.
"I don't even know where to start... I got a new wedding to plan . Even though my boss was pissed off at me enough, I was late to meet my new clients. Although the whole meeting didn't really give me anything because I didn't even manage to meet the bride and groom. And they want me to plan their perfect wedding?! Maybe I'm just not good enough to come up with something... "At this point, Boyoung started doubting her skills. Her previous clients always liked the end result and thanked her by saying that they would remember this wonderful day to the end of their lifes. This time, there was a void in her head. She always adjusted everything to the couple's taste trying to compromise when they disagreed on something, but now she didn't even know how the two people, for whom she was supposed to plan one of the most important days in their lives together, looked.
"It's really weird that you didn't meet them. And as for your boss... I can't say anything because she's a terrifying woman." A man started making decorations on white foam. He may never have met the devil, but he could feel her killing sight every time he heard stories about her.
"I don't know if this will help you, but... Here's your favorite honey latte without an espresso because we don't want you to be depresso~" Barista ruffled girls hair and went into the kitchen to take care of the cakes. The girl ignored his lame joke and was happy to take a sip of a warm drink.
"So it's basically just milk and honey?"
When she heard a voice next to her she turned around and the liquid left her face landing on the face of a man who laughed in disbelief.
"I knew you were a flower, but I had no idea that the flower belongs to clown and sprays liquid on faces of innocent people."
He took a napkin from the counter and started wiping milk from himself. Her horror disappeared and got replaced with a frown as soon as she recognized his face .
"Are you stalking me? Do the police these days have nothing to do?" She rolled her eyes and continued to drink. The man's eyesight was darkened and his face was without any emotion.
"Yes, I'm watching you."
She choked on her drink. Jungkook's face quickly turned back into his doe-eyed expression.
"Hey hey hey, I was just kidding!" He started patting her on the back like it would help with something.Boyoung wiped her mouth with her hand and looked at him in disbelief.
"There's really something wrong with your head." The man smiled, showing his bunny teeth. The girl really couldn't understand how a person in his position could behave in such a childish way.
"Oh, right. I forgot to ask. The wedding went well despite the incident with the flowers?" Boyoung remembered their first meeting. It was certainly not the right first meeting, but the girl did not ask for it in the first place.
"It took a while to clean up. But we managed to come to an agreement. Who would have thought that two people who didn't like each other chose colours that fit together perfectly..." Boyoung smiled, looking into the mug with her eyes, but with thoughts being somewhere else.
"Good to hear it. Then you must be really good at your job." On his words, the ends of her mouth fell down and her head hit the table loudly. Jungkook jumped up on the chair out of surprise.
"H-Have I said something wrong?" The girl just sighed.
"No... I'm just starting to doubt my skills." She raised her head ignoring a burning forehead that was starting to turn red.
"I have to plan a wedding for people who weren't even in the meeting. I don't even know what they look like! And this is an arranged marriage, which for me is a crime against human feelings! But even if it's all arranged, they should show up at the meeting." Jungkook smiled sadly.
" You're right, an arranged marriage doesn't sound too pleasant..."
The girl was going to find out why he sounded so sad, but Hongjun came out of the kitchen with a tray full of cookies. After noticing the man sitting next to his friend, he smiled warmly at him.
"Well, hello there Officer." He started to lay the baked goods on display. Boyoung wanted to take one of the cakes, but she was hit in the hand with cooking tongs.
"Pay. THEN take it." She rolled her eyes at mans serious face. Jungkook looked at them carefully, but his attention was turned to the perfect, most beautiful, most appetizing cookie he had ever seen.
" Ta-da! A new recipe. No one has yet managed to get the perfect consistency, size and appearance of the cookie. But I did! Well, almost... I haven't checked the taste yet-" The two behind the counter threw themselves on the cookie, crushing it into pieces and quickly eating what they managed to catch in their hands. A cry of despair came out of the barista's mouth when there were only crumbs left in his hand." You monsters! Get out of my café! You're not allowed in here from now on!"
💐"But it was a good cookie."
Jungkook nodded his head and got rid of the crumbs left on his fingers by licking them off.
"It was worth it."
They were both walking down the sidewalk looking at people passing by. Maybe they didn't know it, but they both liked to look at people.
They both laughed when a boy wanted to talk to a long-haired girl, but when she turned around, the alleged playboy was greeted with a not very happy expression on man's face.
"You know what, Officer Psycho? You're not that bad." Jungkook stopped and grabbed his heart dramatically.
"Did you just get a compliment out of your mouth? I think I have to write this day in my calendar as the most important holiday!" Boyoung pushed him but it didn't impress the tall man. They kept on playing around without realizing that there was someone waiting for each of them at their homes.
