Chapter 4 :: The walls kept tumbling down in the city we love

I stared at my reflection in the bathroom of my new work place, lost in my thoughts .

I remembered when I was seven I was playing a game of cards. With my mother " go fish !" She said full of energy while displaying her gorgeous smile " awww" I simply couldn't believe I was losing I mean I was the queen of the game !

I picked up another two cards. "Do you have any spades?" Oh nooo! I thought. I was devastating to know that the queen was losing to a lowly peasant that was is my mother! Well that was how I thought back then.

Years later I discovered that my mother was cheating ! Every single time we played she would distract me in order to steal a peak at my cards. Even though I found out years later I was both disappointed and thrilled . I was thrilled by the fact that I was indeed still the queen but disappointed that my mother would cheat just to beat a seven year old !

I snapped out of my thoughts and looked blankly at my reflection. I looked tired, my light brown hair with blonde highlights was messy but my emerald green eyes still as striking as ever

Sighing I inspected my surroundings there where three bathroom stalls all filthy and I was standing by the only sink. The fluorescent light occasionally would stop working the return to shining extremely bright. I blinked I few times annoyed by the light, the place smelt terrible almost having my eyes tearing up .

Well that was job number one for today clean the disgusting bathroom. Joe my new boss the owner of Rusty's told me to " clean the bathroom, clean the kitchen, clean the floors and the counters ! Absolutely no slacking !" The short man blared as I observed his appearance, he is short about 1,52 metres and has a huge stomach and think legs and arms. Her has a unibrow and stone cold grey eyes. "Do you understand?" He said which quickly snapped me out of my daze. I slightly nodded my head and ran to the bathroom.

And that's where I've been for the pat twenty minutes doing absolutely nothing besides reminiscing about the past and staring at my reflecting. I was about the start clean when the door had suddenly burst open and loud chatter boomed through as three people walked in a girl with chocolate skin and long curly hair stepped in with two guys they looked a like both with brown hair and hazel eyes, you could tell that they're brothers just one was older but not by much "hey you must be Alicia I'm Zoe and this is Micah and Malachi " she said pointing to the two boys , they both smiled. One of them spoke up " just to make it clear I'm Malachi but everyone calls me king" I simply nodded at him then looked at Zoe "nobody calls him that" she said while rolling her eyes "well what did Joe tell you to do ?" "He told me to clean the bathroom, kitchen, floors and.... " I smiled sheepishly " I can't remember" Malachi laughed "well took don't have to do any of that noboday works around here " he beamed as he said it "easy money " Micah said. Relief slushed over me I really did not want to clean, expect these revolting bathrooms "so do you wanna go with us to get some ice- cream?"
