"How do I look, Ginny?" Hermione asked.
"Your dress looks lovely Hermione, but are you sure you want to wear something that casual on a date?" Ginny asked.
Hermione nodded. " We're going to the carnival, not to dinner!"
Ginny laughed. "I still can't believe that Professor McGonagall set you up on a date!" Ginny exclaimed.
Hermione chuckled. "I can't either."
"I finished braiding your hair," Ginny announced. She stepped back to admire her work. " Something is missing. I'll be right back." Ginny runs off leaving Hermione alone in her dorm room. She was head girl, so she had one all to herself. A few minutes later, Ginny came back. "Here, wear this." Ginny said while handing a denim jacket over to her. Hermione skipped the jacket on over her knee length sunflower dress. Hermione gasped at her reflection in the mirror. "Oh, Shoes!" Ginny exclaimed before digging in Hermione's closet. " Here, try these." Ginny handed Hermione a pair of black sandals.
"Thank you so much, Ginny!" Hermione exclaimed.
Ginny shrugged. "Now you can repay me by having fun on your date. I want to hear all the details. Especially if Severus Snape is a good kisser. Now, while you are gone I'm going to clean up your closet, that I completely trashed," ginny said.
Hermione giggled. " Yes ma'am!" She said while giving a salute. Ginny then escorted Hermione to McGonagall's office.
"Have fun Mione!" Ginny called as Hermione walked into the office.
"As do you Severus," Hermione started while looking at his polo shirt and jeans. "Er, I mean handsome, or, well I think you get the point. But muggle clothes look nice on you."
Severus chuckled, and Hermione soon relaxed.
"Young love...." McGonagall trailed off from behind them.
"Minerva! I was unaware of your presence," Severus Snape stated.
"Yes, have fun you two!" Minerva exclaimed.
Hermione and Severus nodded, and apparate out of the office.
"There is a lot of people here. Severus complained as soon as they got there.
Hermione laughed. "There may be, but l there are tons of fun things to do here. I'll show you, you'll have fun too."
Hermione pulled Severus over to the games. The games were always her favorite part. Mainly because she could normally win at most of them, but she wasn't trying to brag. The two walked over to a game where you had to knock over the milk jugs.
"I'm going to win you a stuffed animal," Hermione jokes.
"Not if I win you one first," Severus teases.
"Nothing like a little bit of competition," Hermione states.
"You're on."
They both pay, and Severus and Hermione both chuck the ball at the structure, and the first milk bottle falls down.
Severus throws the ball at one of the other milk jugs. It falls over. Hermione does the same, only both fall over. Severus throws the ball again, and the third and final jug falls over. Hermione and Severus look at each other.
"Which one do you want?" They ask in unison. Hermione gets a blue teddy bear from Severus, and he gets the same bear, only in green, from Hermione.
Throughout the night, they go on various rides, and play more games. By this time, it is dark and the moon is rising.
"It's a full moon tonight," Hermione comments as they ride up to the top on the Ferris Wheel.
"Not quite," Severus says. He then points out the edge of the moon. "It's hard to tell, but the full moon is tomorrow." Hermione nods.
"Severus," Hermione starts. He raises his eyebrow as if to say 'go on.' "I like you," Hermione finishes.
It was a simple phrase, but it made Severus rethink everything. He took a deep breath. "I like you too, Hermione." At that time, the Ferris Wheel stopped, and they were at the top. They met each other's eyes, and Severus tilted her chin up at him. His eyes meet hers, fingertips gently touching. Then their fingers intertwine. Hermiine turns her head until her lips are near his. She turns further, until she finds his mouth with hers. They kiss like this with her head turned, surrendering to him, to the emotion, to the inevitable. Everything in the world was perfect. And nothing was going to stop them. Until the ferris wheel got to the bottom, and they had to get off.
They got off the ferris wheel and apparated back to Hogwarts. The two kissed again, and Minerva cleared her throat.
"Sorry to break this lovely moment apart, but I don't need to see that," she jokes.
Severus stood up. "Goodnight Hermione," he said before giving her a peck on the cheek and walking out of the office.
"Goodnight Severus," Hermione calls after him. Hermione stands in the office smiling.
"Goodnight Hermione," McGonagall says while shutting her notebook. " I was just waiting up for you two to get back. I'm going to get to bed now, and I advise you to too." Hermione nods and heads back to her room where she finds Ginny passed out on the couch. She places a blanket on Ginny.
"Goodnight," she whispers.
Hermione tucks herself into bed, and falls asleep cuddling her blue teddy, and thinking about her night with Severus Snape.
