leafpaw carried a few small minnows into camp, careful to not rip the cobwebs that covered the wound on her back leg. as she set the fish down, the leader, stonestar, padded up next to her.

' ' snowstorm told me about what happened at the border, ' ' he suddenly spoke, giving leafpaw a scare, but stonestar took no notice to it, ' ' what do you think he meant when he said he will ' start something '? ' '

' ' err, w-why are you asking me? ' ' leafpaw stuttered.

' ' well, you heard him state it, and you were the victim of the toms actions, ' ' stonestar licked his chest.

leafpaw didnt know how to answer the question, so she said, ' ' maybe.. maybe he wants to send fear into the clan..? ' '

stonestar grunted, ' ' maybe youre right. we should do the same right back to that pathetic thunderclan bunch. ' '

' ' what!? no, we- ' ' stonestar cut leafpaw off. ' ' we will send out a patrol tonight for a surprise attack.. show them they cant scare us.. ' '

' ' but you have kin in there- ' ' leafpaw said, hoping to change stonestars mind.

' ' i have no kin in there, leafpaw. ' '

' ' isnt pridestar- ' '

' ' ENOUGH, ' ' stonestar snapped at the apprentice, but calmed down and hopped up unto his rock, then announcing,' ' there is to be a battle patrol tonight, everyone get prepared. we will need everyone we can get, from the apprentices that can fight all the way to the oldest warrior. ' '

oh starclan, what have i started.. leafpaw thought as she stared up at the leader, her eyes full of fear.

leafpaw watched the chaos of her clanmates getting ready for battle. she glanced over at the leader as he hopped onto his rock, the moonlight shining down onto his dark gray fur.

' ' all cats leaving for thunderclan, start heading out! ' ' stonestar announced, causing the bustle of cats to begin piling out of the entrance.

stonestar peered over at leafpaw and flicked his tail, signaling for her to come with. leafpaw gulped, then stood up and emerged from behind her rock. she slipped over to the leader, who then gave her a look of approval.

' ' if we win this battle, you will receive your warrior name early, and it will be announced immediately after we win, ' ' stonestar mewed into her ear quietly, then padded out of the camp.

leafpaw stood in shock, but then shook her head and started out of the camp, hoping she isnt too far behind from her classmates.

i should have stayed out of camp after the incident, i should have just kept my mouth shut. she kept thinking about what she should have done, what could have prevented this all.

eventually, the cats that had made their way to the entrance of the camp, watching from the darkness as the thunderclan cats began to make their way into the dens, oblivious of riverclans presence. stonestar made his way to the front of the group of cats that were crammed into the entrance.

' ' get ready to attack, riverclan.. ' 'stonestar whisper-yelled across the clan as he got into position for the battle.

leafpaw flattened her ears against her head. she didnt want to battle over such a small matter that stonestar took wrongly.

' ' attack! ' ' stonestar shouted, causing the patrol to pour into the camp, attacking any cats out in the open.

leafpaw, who had just been trampled by everyone behind her, finally slipped out of the entrance. she watched the battle in shock of how badly riverclan was attacking thunderclan. they had no time to prepare...
